Looking back from 27 July 1981 and up to 23 Sept. 2005, searching for long periods of no wins of at least 50 days or more, to see how many days before the X 2 X would reoccur or win. Yes yes, I know, lotteries do not pay for single digit wins BUT they do pay tiny $$$ for winning Pairs.
The first long no win for the 2nd position # 2 happened in 1985 and lasted 55 days then won again six days later. In:
1989 out 58 days then win 7 days later
1992 59 2 days later
1996 50 3
2000 63 1 day later(then 1 day, 1 day , & 1 day)
3/13,14,14,16
2001 55 days then win 4 days later
2002 80 days then 15 days later
2005 66 days 10 days later
2005 61 days 11 days later
No winning strategy for these longer no win periods discovered. However, if any digit is out or has not won in more than 95 days, then it may be worth the chase to wheel it for a few days. Or, once it does come in after such a long absence, it would be worth the cost/loss to wheel it for a week or so. It is unlikely a digit would noot have at least one win in 120 days or less. A 117-day no win is the longest period ever found.
