Tequila and Salt

Tequila and Salt

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it everyday. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4 A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5 . Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6 . You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8 . Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11 . Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for Lemonade and call me over!

Good friends are like stars........You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.

I would rather have one rose and a kind word from a friend while I'm here than a whole truck load when I'm gone.

In The Wrong Company

It Is Better To Be Alone, Than In The Wrong Company.

Tell me who your best friends are, and I will tell you who you are.

If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights.

A mirror reflects a man's or a woman's face, but what they are really like is shown by the kind of friends they choose.

The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate for the good and the bad. The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time
you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity.

An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are. Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl.

Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you.

Consider This:

Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person.

Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere.

With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it.

Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life.

Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships.

If you see people without a smile today, give them one of yours.

Choose to rise...Don't settle...and go for your dreams And most of all let God lead you in everything you do.

Yard Work

What a wonderful day to work in the yard.  You can tell it's spring.  Lawn mowers and leaf blowers are sputtering away.  My neighbors are planting new flowers and shrubs, trees are being trimmed, some have even started vegetable gardens..mmmmm yummy.    This is great, not just because people are beautifying their property but it's the look of accomplishment, pride and fulfillment on my neighbors faces.  The back straightens, the smile gets wider and the stride gets longer as they survey the end results of their labor.  Then thats when you say, "It's looking good over there."  Without a word your neighbor looks at you with the biggest smile you've ever seen and guess what...your neighbor is looking at the biggest smile on your face he has ever seen.

It's not your enviroment

It is not your enviroment, it is you-the quality of your minds, the integrity of your souls, and the determination of your wills that will shape the kind of person you will be or become.

You are what you aspire to be, you are what you do with your mind, your knowledge, and your spirit.

Nobody is wise enough, nobody is good enough, and nobody cares enough about you for you to turn over to them your future or your destiny.

Men

God, give us men!  A time like this demands strong minds great hearts, true faith and ready hands;

Men whom the lust of office does not kill;

Men w hom the spoils of ofice cannot buy;

Men who possess opinions and a will;

Men who have honor; men who will not lie;

Men who can stand before a demagogue and damn his treacherous flatteries without winking;

Tall men, sun crowned, who live above the fog

In public duty and in private thinking.

Souls

When we build fences to keep others out, erect barriers to keep others down, deny to them the freedom that we ourselves enjoy and cherish most, we keep ourselves in and hold ourselves down; and the barriers we erect against others become prison bars to our own souls.

Better Late Than Never

In a vote of 96-0 from the House and unanimous voice vote in the Senate, the Virginia legislature passed a non-binding resolution expressing "profound regret" for slavery and the exploition of Native Americans.

As Virginia was preparing to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Jamestown someone felt it just didn't look quite right to have a festive occassion touting the freedom of the New Americans while the first documented Africans to arrive at Jamestown in 1619 were in chains, under guard, and enslaved to the New Americans.  This same fate had already become the lot for the Native Aboriginal population, aka Native Americans aka Indians.

Hats off for the 96-0 and unanimous votes.  A step in the right direction.  Let the healing begin.
