You've  got to wonder what his username here on LP is!

Scared

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Yeah, I agree this guy acted like a bonehead loser over just winning $500.00.  I guess he must have just had 50 cents in his pockets and non-existent bank account to "jump" for joy like that.  If he actually jumped from the ground up onto the roof of that car, I think he might want to hone either his ball catching skills or basketball skills and try to get on a team with hops like that.  But he would need to give up hitting the wacky weed.

Something else caught my eye...I love journalists!

Taglieri, who was allowed to keep his scratch-off winner, is due back in court Sept. 21.

This would lead one to think that the police/DA could arbitrarily determine to seize one's property for any type of crime; however, it is well known that they will seize drug dealers property and given that he was charged with drug distribution for such a small amount of mj, I guess he is lucky they "allowed him to keep his scratch-off winner".  But I wonder if they would have done so had it been a $2million scratch-off winner or a winning jackpot ticket?  In those cases, I would think they would say, "Cha-ching ching" we (the police/DA) have just hit the lottery!!!

Get MONEY!!! Winning a JACKPOT lottery is all the HOPE and CHANGE I desire!!!  NOW give me MONEY!US Flag

The guy who won the presidency in 2008 really won the lottery...he is now millions richer, travels in first class style, and even has a staff that would be the envy of the richest Powerball winner (she has a staff of 2). Every night he goes to sleep, he probably plays the close of Dave Chappelle's Show: I'm rich beyatch!

Another "happy" vandal ... a menace to society!  He'll probably escape paying for damages to the car owner though.

damages won't even be 500.00. at least he knows where to get weed. time to legalize it has been overdue. at least in ma there is no penalty for possessing it. there is no way they can even enforce the 100.00 fine. what a joke.

I agree, it says a lot about society in general thatthe story here is that he was busted on pot charges, not that he was busted on destruction of property.  Honestly, which is worse?

I think its funny that he got so excited for $500 because he was having money problems, yet was able to afford an entire ounce of pot!

Actually what is worse is the judgmentalism this thread has opened up . Yes the behavior created damage and for that legally it deserves compensation. Done

Well look at how many people have money issues and who spend it on gambling. Granted, of course, gambling can result in getting money, where buying that ounce of pot likely would not (I'm not well versed on marijuana purchases but since that amount is near the 'not illegal' mark I'd assume he hadn't bought it to sell it and make money like you would a higher weight of the stuff).

But still, without the marijuana factoring into the story it's still pretty humorous. Win $500, jump on and damage a car and then get arrested... likely using all of the $500 he won. Something makes me think he wouldn't be able to keep a jackpot win quiet.

I think it calls for more than compensation.

guess we know what hell do with his 'winnings' - paying court fines, court costs and probation fees.

somehow i dont think $500 is going to cover it.

it's a 100 dollar fine in Mass for less than an  ounce so at least he'll have the other $400 to smoke  lol
