Man finds €350,000 Irish lotto ticket in his wallet a month after the draw

Ireland National LotteryIreland National Lottery: Man finds €350,000 Irish lotto ticket in his wallet a month after the draw

Rating:

In Ireland, a Wexford man is ending 2014 on a very high note after discovering he's won €350,000.

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, bought a €6 Lotto ticket with Plus on 29 November in Centra on the Errigal Road, Drimnagh, Dublin 12.

He won the top prize in the Lotto Plus 1 draw that evening, worth €350,000, but remained oblivious to his good fortune for a month.

"I just found out yesterday," he said.

"I scanned the ticket in the shop and it said to contact the National Lottery, so I thought there must be a problem with the barcode or something. Then I checked it on the website later. I couldn't believe it!"

He isn't the only person who has extra reason to celebrate as we ring in the New Year.

A Dublin man struck it lucky on Christmas Eve when he bought a Lotto ticket in Spar at the Maple Centre on Navan Road. He found out he had won €350,000 on St. Stephen's Day.

Thanks to myturn for the tip.

.... Just don't forget where you hide the tickets.

Congratulations to the winner, he is right to remain anonymous.

You can play the Irish Lottery online, but you do need an Irish address to set up an account.

You have to though. Forgetting about it completely guarantees you a big win. Big Grin

No one can apply the law of attraction, most winners never heard of the L.O A. and don't expect to win, they are simply hopeful like all players.

What stopped the terrorism was full employment in Ireland supported by the UK & the US. Mainly high tech jobs.

I have tried this a couple of times.  Hasn't worked for me so far.  Sigh.

Old lottery tickets aren't like fine wine, they don't get better with age.  They'll never be worth more than they were right after the drawing.

In Australia players can register, they get a Players Card, the size of a credit card, you use it whatever you buy tickets.

If you lose your ticket or forget to check it, you don't miss out on any prizes, the lottery will contact you.

You can still play without registration if you want, but your tickets are not protected.

We all get a lot out of lotteries!
