lol...as opposed to one of those "small" $40-50 million jackpots?  $13 - 19 million after taxes is chump change now eh? :)

I hear you.

I'd gladly accept half of that $19 million after taxes!

And never play any lottery again.

So still no bump? I don't know about anywhere else or any other states but today was the first time I saw people lining up to buy tickets everywhere I went. Went to return something at the supermarket and had to wait for a while because of the line of people buying tickets. I even had to forgo getting gas on the way home because I've never seen the parking lot that insane except for when there's an impending hurricane. The craziness hasn't happened at any of the other draws at these places. So I'm really surprised to see there has been no bump to $1.6B. Either they over estimated the sales on the previous increases or people have finally run out of residual cash and are buying fewer tickets per person.

I might wake up early and go running.  I might also wake up and win the lottery.

The odds are about the same.

If you'll post a copy of your tickets I'll buy 3 copies per line to even things out.

I have been wondering the same thing.

If I for sure knew the winning numbers, I'd buy 10 or 12 tickets with the same numbers to make sure I got a majority share even if 1 or 2 other tickets were sold.  That would make it easier to get most of the money to the charities of your choice without paying taxes.  Just send them the tickets anonymously, and pay taxes only on the one ticket that I claim for myself.

They are being conservative on this. Last min ticket sales may push it past 1.6 billion.

However, if they put out 1.6 billion and it's only 1,580,000 come draw time the media will ask what's the deal?

They rather not put up with it.

                    No bees, no honey.

agreed. First time seeing a line at a place near my house in cali. They'll reveal probably 1.65B at the drawing

According to powerball website's FAQ if they say 1.6 billion and their projections were over then they still have to pay the winner 1.6Billion. No less.

Lol, if you knew you had the winning numbers, we'd have to call you Biff (like the bully in Back to the Future movies with his book with all the sports scores....hmm, there must be some rules in place in the future , or maybe they have progressed to the point where money isn't as important :)

                            SavageGoose,

I just checked, and that seqence of numbers has yet to hit.
With your kind permission (it's a little late for me), but hit or not, I'd like to play that sequence on Saturday, if it not hit by then.

Regardless if tonight's powerball has hit or not with any doggone numbers.  OK?
I won't be playing these numbers tonight. I'm sick, and can't make it to the store.

                              "Still no bump?"

                              Don't sound so disappointed. LOL

Coming home from work tonight every gas station had a line. I think the cash will top $1 billion. The estimate issued today (next draw $2 billion if no winner, with sales estimated slightly lower) did not show any change in the the current draw sales estimate........but we'll see.

If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.
If a crystal ball showed you the future of the rest of your life, and in that future you will never win a jackpot, would you still play?
