BOISE, Idaho — An Idaho woman's streak of playing the same lottery numbers since 1989 finally paid off when the numbers earned her a $390,000 jackpot.
Rosemary Loveland said she has been entering the same numbers in the weekly drawings since the Idaho Lottery began in 1989, and Friday morning she discovered her numbers for Thursday night's drawing qualified her for the second-tier prize on the Idaho Lottery Draw Game Lucky for Life — $25,000 a year for life, or a $390,000 lump sum.
"I looked at the numbers and I thought I was gonna have a heart attack. You bet I recognized them right away," Loveland said. "I called my daughter and told her 'I did it! I did it! I did it!'"
Loveland, who took the lump sum option, said she plans to invest her winnings for her children and grandchildren.
Good for her.
After 27 years I hope she at least broke even!
What a beautiful first name "Rosemary" and a positive last name "Loveland". This is a happy story to start the day with. Thank You Todd!
Congratulations Mrs,Rosemary Loveland Spend Wisely
I'm no math wizard but i say she did good $2.00 a draw two draws a week for 27 years.
I hope she'll save 1/2 that money and cross a few and many things off her bucket list
I Hope the first things she Considers is to Move to somewhere warm.
I never been to Idaho i assume it gets COLD there in the Winter time...
But i do like them Idaho Potatoes
Now she can finally stop playing those numbers. Wow, that's persistence.
Keep your numbers in you just never know.
Sometimes persisence pays off.
sometimes it gets you a restraining order...lol
helpmewin,
You're correct if that's all she ever played.
Congratulations!!!
It was a weekly drawing. Assuming the price was always two dollars per line and assuming she only played one line per week, she would have invested roughly $2,800 over the past 27 years. She would have earned far less if she'd parked it in the bank and unless she was a stock picking whiz, she'd have earned less in the stock market.
The breaking even after 27 years was a joke.
Come on people.
Why bother questioning if she even out her winnings or not? The look on your face shows everything.
She looks like a very down to earth person. Congrats to her and I wish her the best!!!
