Latest draw game launches with a $50,000 top prize

By Kate Northrop

Michigan Lottery players have a new daily draw game to try, and it's called Daily 5.

The Michigan Lottery rounded off its collection of daily draw games with the launch of Daily 5, an in-state game that offers a top prize of $50,000.

The new game went live on Aug. 24 at $1 per play. Just like with Daily 3 and Daily 4, players can choose different ways to play that impact the prize won.

To purchase a ticket, players select five numbers from 0 to 9 or opt for an Easy Pick (Quick Pick) with the type of bet they wish to play.

There are five different play types: Straight, Box, 2-Way, 1-Off, and Wheeled. Prize amounts depend on the play type and on the order in which the winning numbers are drawn.

For example, matching all five numbers with a Box bet will win a $10,000 prize, matching all five with a 2-Way bet wins $30,000, and matching all five with a Straight bet wins $50,000.

Tickets are available online or at any of the 10,500 Michigan Lottery retailers throughout the state.

Daily 5 drawings take place twice a day, seven days a week alongside Daily 3 and Daily 4, at 12:59 p.m. and 7:29 p.m. Eastern Time.

Starting soon, the winning numbers can be found on Lottery Post's Michigan Lottery Results page.

We were supposed to get a Daily 5 years ago! I saved an image posted in a lottery group on Facebook that showed the play type and prizes won for each bet type. This was back in 2017-2018. I guess they have made enough money to finally give us the game. Michigan even increased the payout amounts for retailers. Instead of being capped at $601 its now $999

Wonder when we're going to get the Pick 2.  I can see people plunking down a buck to try to get $50 to buy a big scratcher.

Even if they didn't go for a parlay 50 bucks is still just barely nothing to dismiss just yet.

yay, I'll play 😛
