Funny world progresses on one side regresses on the other. Oh well back to the Track Racing Book Regards, EddessaKnight

Repeat... Best state to live in after Winning
I would disagree, particularly if we're talking about jackpot winners. While it may be good for retirees who don't have to lose money from pension, 401k payments, SS, etc., jackpot winners don't need to worry about that. Having the millions you would have from a jackpot win is tons more than the average retiree would have so there isn't that much to worry in terms of taxes. Not only that, but if you're not investing then there's no taxes at all as you wouldn't really have any income (just tha

My dad has more luck than I do.
He occasionally wins raffles and stuff. And he once won 2500 bucks from a Nevada casino. But he is never a regular lottery buyer. He only buys the tickets every couple of months. I work at my dad's store and we had a talk over lottery tickets. He told me not to tell anyone if he wins a jackpot. Since he seems to have more luck than I would ever be, I guess he has a better chance for winning a jackpot. I told him that I just need a house and a steady flow of passive incomes. We agreed th

39 states and D.C. Have Lotteries
Just my $.02 Tennessee (Baptists), Utah (Mormons) and Hawaii (illegal gambling interests) were never supposed to get any form of legal gambling. Tennessee has lottery now, so that wasn't totally true (how many Tennesse doillars were going across state lines for lotto?) But I'm with ThatScaryChick, I don't think all the states will ever have it (unless we have a national lottery). One reason is the states with a lottery that want to sell their lotteries to private firms- other states

TODAY'S POLL: Scenarios of remaining anonymous
I live in Louisiana so I have option B. I don't want to deal with the beggars, mooching relatives, people with sure fire business ventures, and riminals who will try to extort money from winners by threat. Stories I've read here on Lottery Post tell why B is the best option. I remember one story about a winner in Florida who was getting all sorts of people begging for money. The couple was about to buy a new truck for themselves but when the dealership learned they won the lottery, the pric

Woba Sisters & Dr Simpelton Inquiry
hello Stavros, Much apperciate your excellent efforts in tracking all the states for the ostensible Woba numbers. Nothing like objective reporting with actuals! I have still not uncovered anything related to the past or present presence of the sisters in Las Vegas. Because of greed, Nevada unfortunately, does not permit lotteries but just for fun, I plan to do some low risk testing on the pick 3's with Video Keno. In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order

Fixed Lotteries
Coin, Actually what happened was the paper and pencil crowd that was tracking the numbers started playing the number that wasn't there because, hey, it's due, you know! And then they assumed somebody from the Lottery Commission pocketed those balls thus rigging the game so they couldn't win. I played the Ohio Pick-3 when it began in 1979 and hit the second draw, straight and boxed, by playing the 3 digits number off my license plate (647). That s when I learned to ask the clerk

Fixed Lotteries
Stack47 That only affected the players using that number and actually gave the players using the other numbers a slightly better percentage. Actually what happened was the paper and pencil crowd that was tracking the numbers started playing the number that wasn't there because, hey, it's due, you know! You have to love those kind of people - when Vegas put in mechanical horse race games, the very first night there was actually people with pencils and memo pads doping out the mech

What to do with lottery winnings?
First of all, welcome to LotteryPost. Hope you enjoy it here. This topic has been discussed here before and everyone will have their own views, so I'll give you mine. First thing to do is put the ticket in a safe place, then I think you should contact an attorney, accountant, and a good investment firm and find out your best courses of action. If you want to live for the rest of your life on your money, you'll need all of those things. You should also get an unlisted phone number and ma
