Guaranteed cash prizes to be awarded every drawing, but odds are harder By Kate Northrop This weekend the Canadian multi-province Lotto Max draw game gets its revamp, which promises jackpots capped at $90 million (US$64.7 million) and guaranteed $100,000 (US$71,940) cash prizes with every draw. It's because the odds of winning the NH scratch off is 780 times better than PB/MM.

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
It is measly when the odds of winning that jackpot are 1 in 290 million and a ticket cost five bucks.

The Florida Millionaire Raffle is back!
Bought a ticket today around noon in the 117,000 range. Looking at Winterbird's sales data chart (thanks WB!) it seems reasonable to estimate 4,000 more sales today, to put the total sales for interim draw 1 at around 121,000. So if this estimate is close to actual sales, then it looks like odds of winning one of the 2,498 prizes in interim draw #1 would be 1:48. Odds on both the $100,000 and $10,000 prize tiers would be 1:40,333. $5,000 is 1:24,200 $1,000 is 1: 10,083 $500 is 1:537 $100 is

And every ticket you hold is up against 292.2 million odds. That' why so few jackpots are won.

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
Nope. There is only one set numbers drawn to determine what set of numbers wins a jackpot. No matter how many tickets are played in an attempt to win the jackpot every single one of those tickets are up against the jackpot odds. Anything else is urban legend or a unicorn in a lottery sense. People desperately want to believe they can jump through all kinds of hoops to reduce the odds but that might as well be filed under 'Once upon a time'. If it were true there would be one heck of a lot more j

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
Some would argue if you cared so deeply about the odds you wouldn't play at all.

Probability of winning with multiple tickets
Tucker Black, Nope. As for PB and MM each additional ticket reducing the odds by millions is urban legend at best. There is only one set of winning numbers drawn and each set played is an attempt to match that set. Then there's always the possibility that someone with very deep pockets could play enough tickets using your theory to win the jackpot by wait! They read your post but you never mentioned the jackpot might be split by the number of winners! Way back when I first started casino work I

Never did this before
Once in a while, when I can, I play enough single draw of a state lotto to cut the odds down to under 1:7,000 for the jackpot. I have never won the jackpot. Only some free ticket plays and occasionally $10 (most of the time never any cash). So... I hope you win. But no such thing as a sure thing even with lowered odds. Good luck!
