Georgia to sell tickets online
The only other option (besides a courier like UPS/FedEx) would be to trust the GA Lottery to hold onto your ticket and let you know if you have a winner or not. And, I don't know about the rest of you, but there have been too many horror stories lately about dishonest clerks/lottery personnel/etc. for me to trust anyone other than me to hold onto that ticket.Until we have a change in the postal service rules and regs, it's somewhat doubtful that GA would allow ticket sales for out of state w

Lawmakers steamed about lottery promotion
The Maine Lottery is getting strong, bipartisan criticism for its Funds For Fuel promotion as lawmakers say the lottery should not be using Mainers' fear of high fuel prices this winter to sell more lottery tickets. I think it is misleading, Sen. Debra Plowman, R-Hampden, a member of the Legislature's Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee that has oversight of the lottery, said this week. It almost sounds like some of the money will go to fuel assistance. It doesn't. It is just another way to

Lottery courier service pioneers online sales model in Texas
Wouldn't make more sense to have their own Online sales without the middle man like many other state lotteries do? All those existing retailers are middlemen already, and a sold ticket is a sold ticket. Having their own online sales would save the lottery the commission, but despite selling online the lotter is just one more retailer.

Iraqi's Oregon jackpot raises questions on lottery sales
The man from Baghdad showed up unannounced this month in a state office building in Salem, Ore., with a piece of paper in his hand that he said was worth $6.4 million. He politely asked that his name be kept quiet, then told state officials that he had set up a local bank account into which they should deposit money annually. And then he went away, richer and more mysterious than when he arrived. It was not an ordinary day at the Oregon Lottery. The story started with small details, lotter

Rabbitfoot:Unfortunately, most people are under the same impression. Indiana's jackpot doesn't begin to roll over until after the second consecutive drawing with no winner. Then, each consecutive rollover will increase in $500,000.00 minimum increments. However, I can't remember an incremental increase over that amount since this policy was instituted.Below is the press release announcing the change.
