If you won Wednesday's Powerball jackpot?
None of the above...I will take a leave of absence long enough to set up my financials ...trust fund, tax lawyer, etc. Then I would start looking for a property in the DC Metro area since my family wants to move back there (why, I don't know). Then back to some kind of work, if not the environmental work I do now, an average of 2.5 days a week. Then something else, maybe habitat for humanity. I already retired once and found out you have to do something.

i know somebody who...
Has your brother ever gotten mad or sad once or twice in his life? Oviously he's a mad man. Have him committed and take control of his financials. He would do it to you!! :)

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
A tax refund means the government took out more of their money than they actually owed. It's not the same thing. When people have to pay forced/mandatory taxation, they deserve and have a right to know where their portion of the money goes. That's all people are asking for: where did my money go, not where everyone else's money went, but they care about that too. So, as for your independent auditor, they look at the financials. And they look at the lottery budget compared to the expenses. On

Does A Lottery Winner Really Need A Financial Expert?
I think the only thing a lottery winner really needs is a good accountant as I'm sure the folks at the local H R Block don't usually deal with people who have millions. I'd say only those who don't know how to save and only spend are the only ones who should get financial planners, but then I think of Jack Whitaker. Before winning the lottery he was worth something like $15 million and still he used the money unwisely. Aside from how much he spent on his grand-daughter (right?) I read ot

North Carolina Pick 4 lottery players sweep $10.3 million with 0-0-0-0
All state lotteries have their accounting records open to anyone who cares to download them, so it would be silly for them to lie about it. If you want to check out the North Carolina Lottery's financials for yourself, here's a link where you can look at everything: https://nclottery.com/CorporateSocialResponsibility_Integrity

SC Lottery offers refunds for some multi-draw tickets
Have they disclosed the financials and the math that justifies their decision, obviously sales are down but they should have to fully disclose everything that shows why the initial jackpot is now half and the increases are down also and why. In other businesses if your sales are down you run specials and lower your prices, they effectively want to keep winning by charging the same amount for the tickets but reducing the prizes. Like I said there hasn't been any real explanation why both lotterie

Interesting way to avoid being hassled ?
First if I was possession of a major winning ticket I would have to find out who to trust the winnings with. The keyword is trust. Second of all different things I have read from this site is making me laugh a little bit. Very simply you put in the financial institutions of up to $250 k because the financials are insured for that. Don't tell many people.

Another $1.2M Hot Lotto jackpot rigged by Tipton, officials say
This whole story makes me wonder what else is out there just waiting to be discovered? There are so many RNG games now, and I am sure Tipton isn't the first to have the idea and the skills to make this fraud happen. Maybe others are just less greedy or smart enough not to get caught? I think lotteries are going to have to start monitoring the financials of their employees that have access to RNG systems and especially look at anyone who quit or retired early.

RL's T-Lex program download, free software
Just something I've noticed by chance looking at ID data for 5/42 game here. As it is ID= 4 and 5 hit 86% of the time so pretty close to nearly always. Supposing one were able to correctly identify the first lexie digit playing the range 4-5 along with the first lexie digit generates ar. 75,000 sets. It means that a pool of players with good enough financing on solving the technical problem of generating so many tickets per game would be able to turn out a pre-tax profit of at least 300% per yea

Pool of McDonald's workers claims Mega Millions fraud
Frivalous lawsuit now enroute! More tax payer money and even the poor workers money going to a hopeless cause. A simple audit of the alledged Ladies accounts/financials will solve this. Hiding money offshore is no longer a simple task, and hiding it in and of itself is evasive...My advice is for the workers to buy a happy meal and get happy that they are alive, with loving families and life is way to short to cast stones into shallow water. The lawyers are the only ones that will come out with m
