$1.35 billion Mega Millions lottery winner suing mother of his child for revealing win to family
This case may show us exactly the level of anonymity one gets with a major lottery win. I assume lottery officials must be bound by some sort of employment agreement for lottery winners. The IRS knows. But what about others who had no legal right to know? I would be furious as well. As others have mentioned, make up a story about an inheritance. Some people have no class and will ask personal financial questions. I always act concerned and ask if they are having money issues and will help them f

Kentucky Sports Betting begins on Sept. 28.
Injuries to key players is a huge element in all types of team sports especially if an injury occurs after the betting line is set. And an injury during a game can have a huge effect on the outcome. On Monday night Cleveland Brown's running back Nick Chubb had what is one of the worst injuries I ever saw and obviously effected the outcome. Not many sports betting discussions on LP but in the past there were a few on the Superbowl, KY Derby, NCAA basketball, etc and now that several states a

Arrested for buy too many Lottery tickets?
He did the right thing by standing up for himself vs fleeing like a coward. The police and state lottery are now familiar with this idiot store owner (prior notice) and if it happens again, it makes it much easier for someone to take legal action. Sometimes one needs to think how your actions will affect others.

Arrested for buy too many Lottery tickets?
Well the amount you spent on the lottery was not relevant. If the money you were spending was suspected to come from non legal sources and not income from a job, investments, etc., there was likely probable cause as to why you were under surveillance and arrested. If there was not, contact your state lottery and an attorney. It had nothing to do with how much one spends on the lottery.

Michigan woman didn't realize she had Powerball lottery ticket worth $1 million for six weeks
Right there with you Rcb.... Always check them the next day..But I am tending to agree with ole noise-gate on this one. It is your responsibility to check your tickets, after all, she did purchase them. By the way the article was written, it sure doesn't seem that it was a gift ticket of some sort. The constant hand-holding of folks today is atrocious. It's one thing if you are dealing with a legal battle and need representation but c'mon Irene, its the lottery and you were sent a notice. At 60

Sports betting legalized in Kentucky
There will be people hurt by this, Senator Whitney Westerfield said of the bill. There will be people who can't afford to bet, who will bet anyway. Somebody should tell Westerfield that we already have 24/7 Online lottery wagering, race tracks, off track betting, and gray slot machines. Oh and a couple race tracks have legal slot machine wagering.

German €10 million lottery winner buys pet alligator
Owning an exotic pet cannot be legal without some sort of permit, I hope. What is going to happen when the pet is 14 ft long and 400 lbs? He is acting like a drug lord.

The ever increasingly inflated jackpot prizes for MM and PB
Not sure if many have noticed ( look at current jackpot) there's a huge gap between estimated cash value and jackpot prize. It used to be cash value representing roughly 80-85% of total jackpot prize then states and federal taxes where apply. Now it's almost less than 40%. That is a huge change in how lotteries are estimating jackpot prizes. Setting aside the fact the United States is the only country that taxes lottery wins, it's also the only country in the developed world where it's legal to

New Mexico lawmakers introduce bill to end lottery
Tax on the poor. Which is still true. Shoot, Mary Jane is legal. Denial is an oversight. Facts are facts. Show me someone or something making that much and willing to stay in the state. They're jumping the ocean to settle in the commonwealth. And still call themselves American. Run from the tax man. Same old story since the beginning.

Michigan: 2/1 - 2/28/2023
I understand but to change the outcome in your favor can't be legal. Although they're not using a computer generated system as was discussed on here previously, I'm sure they rig it where all the balls are heavier than others and the ones they want drawn that day are lighter or maybe they're magnetized and have computer chips in them and they designate which ones get dropped. IDK but anything is possible these days with all this technology. They are definitely changing the outcome and choosing t
