Alabama Supreme Court finds that casinos are operating illegally
It seems that other enterprises figured out a way to make gambling work in the state, so what is up with the stuffed shirt politicians there? Since they can't figure out how to create their own lottery, they just call it illegal gambling , but one day they will wake up and start a lottery that is legal gambling because THEY are in control of it. GET A CLUE, LEAGLIZE gambling and then tax the H$LL out of it!
Look what pot did for Colorado when they legalized and taxed it, they are deeply in

IGT prevails in DOJ lawsuit; Wire Act only applies to sports betting
So we basically get confirmation for we already know.
The Court declares that, as to the parties now before it, the Wire Act applies only to 'bets or wagers on any sporting event or contest.'
the Wire Act applies narrowly to sports betting and does not apply to poker, lottery or other forms of online gambling .
It is still completely legal to play the lottery across state lines online and offline.

Virginia man scoops $1 million in Pick 4 with 200 plays in one drawing
Contacted VA lottery since I couldn't find the answer in their rules and regulations.
They have a cap out of $8 million for Pick 3 4, though did not specify if that amount was collectively or individually and verified they do use mechanical balls---but we all know they do!
Now will send a reply to them with a suggestion. Perhaps pages of legal mumbo jumbo will come like it did for California lottery!

$1.5 billion Mega Millions winner explains how "Lottery Lawyer" Jason Kurland stole $83 million
The winners can say nothing but there are the people working at lottery headquarters, someone that just happened to be there cashing a ticket or asking a question. There is a paper trail between the lottery and and their bank and the winner and their bank.
The ID might be safe with Federal and State tax people, but there could be city and county taxes too. Some states by law must check for legal things like child and spousal support, court cost, liens, etc. Wonder how many people heard the

$1.5 billion Mega Millions winner explains how "Lottery Lawyer" Jason Kurland stole $83 million
Glad the jury saw fit to place guilt where it belonged.
83 million is its own win for some players! Wow! That he scammed that much!
Validates that no one should manage your funds or at the very least report once a month it's activity. No way would I put the funds into another person's name. He has legal total control.

Professional Wealth Management Advisors and You
I cringe every time I read something like I'll take my time putting together a legal and financial team and usually before validating their jackpot winning ticket. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but lottery tickets are worthless until they are validated.
IMO, the safety of the winner and their family should be the number one priority and regardless of whether or not our state lottery allows claiming anonymously, most states report the store that sold the winning ticket and possibly the people

Trial begins for "Lottery Lawyer" Jason Kurland; claims he is as much of a victim as lottery winners
I have been waiting for this trial. I know most of the lp members know this but your attorney should never be suggesting investments connected to him/her. Tax advice, yes, but keep specific investment advice with your financial advisors. Do not hire an attorney who can give legal advice and manage your funds. No one stop shopping. Keep that separation to ensure checks and balances. And do not give your power of attorney and/or controlling access to your investments to these advisors.
He will
