Winner of £105 million EuroMillions lottery jackpot misses his job
Probably...He is 45. When you get to be my age it is the 30 to 55 range that start looking good because any younger and they really start looking too young... If I won I would announce that I was going to buy a van and hit the road and smoke pot in every state where it is legal and hit all the wineries and microbreweries everywhere and spend it all on booze and hookers. looking good...feeling good...booze and hookers for everyone! That is not what I would do but that is what I w

800 million dollars
Correct you are. The rich are legally sheltering their money. The Federal government wrote the tax code and wealthy people's tax attorneys are simply telling them how to legally exploit the tax code to their advantage. Ever heard of The Carried Interest Loophole ? It's a terrific method for wealthy people employed in the Private Equity industry to cut their tax burden in half, and best of all it's perfectly legal. But carry as the PE Boy's all call it isn't available to the average tax payin

What happens if you buy an e-ticket online and die before you claim it?
I'm sure the details vary by state, but I'm also sure that each state has a FAQ that probably covers that, even if it's not directly about dying. In NY prizes of less than $600 are credited to your account, and other non-jackpot prizes are paid automatically by check. Those prizes are therefore very definitely yours, so there's no expiration date and if you die the money becomes part of your estate. People who win a jackpot will be notified by an official Lottery representative. They obviously w

Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
There's so much about this SBF thing that makes me wonder. FTX employed in-house lawyers. An in house lawyer is employed by the company as opposed to a law firm that's retained by the company, but its lawyers are not employees of the company. FTX had both in house lawyers and also retained and was advised by a Wall Street law firm. An in house lawyers job is managerial in nature. FTX's two in-house lawyers were the smart guys running the show at FTX, not SBF and his band of idiots who were m

Who is Sam Bankman-Fried and Why Are The Fed's After Him?
Just for a little perspective on the SBF case/mess - It's bigger than Enron and worse than Bernie Madoff .... Some other comments I've heard are Just the tip of the iceberg ... more indictments to follow .... One legal expert said that He's charged with wire fraud and that's the easiest crime for a federal prosecutor to prove .... Sam The Sham is toast. Cryto Curency is an unregulated asset class. It's not like stocks and bonds which are asset classes that are regulated by The US Securit

Iowa Lottery to shorten prize claim periods for multi-state games
As long as they then allow anonymous claims on those games also! I do not know of anyone who has all their legal ducks in a row for a big jackpot claim. I know if it were anonymous Multi State claims here I would not what 6 Minutes to go claim a prize let alone 6 months. I would contact a lawyer and an a tax guy on my way to Lansing if the Multi State Claims were anonymous here.
