Colorado Lottery chief to leave at year's end
Colorado Lottery Director Abel Tapia will retire at the end of the year.
The Puebloan and former state representative and senator, was appointed lottery chief in July 2010.
Tapia said Thursday he has been weighing retirement for a year and had planned to lead the lottery for three to four years.

The turnover at the top of the California Lottery continues with Robert O'Neil deciding to step down at the end of the day Monday after 18 months as director.
The lottery will be headed on an interim basis by Chief Deputy Director Paula LaBrie until Gov. Jerry Brown makes a new appointment, according to Alex Traverso, a spokesman for the lottery.

Vermont Lottery appoints new Executive Director
Greg Smith, an executive with The Vermont Country Store, has been tapped to head the Vermont Lottery, replacing retiring Lottery Executive Director Alan Yandow.
