Jack, That's really fascinating.  I never thought before of numbers "running in herds"!  What a great analogy!!  What I see in this chart is 7 likes 44, and 32, and 11, and 17.  Is that what you see, too?  Tell me what I'm missing..... b/c I'm sure it's something huge knowing my usual mathematically challenged brain!  :)

LottoMike:  My fascination is definitely larger than my winnings!  LOL  The most I've won is $5.00 on Lotto South once for getting 3 of 5 numbers.  I've also gotten 3 of 5 on Cash 5 several times, and 3 of 6 on Mega.  Only got the power ball one time in the 2 years I've been seriously playing! That thing is a whole other chapter on this website!  What about you?  How much have you won picking your own numbers?

Jack, what's UP with the powerball?  Have you done a chart/study on just the powerball and why it's so darned  illusive to pick out?!?

I haven't had any success picking off the red ball.  If I ever get this system down so's I'm only buying one number, and if I ever get enough ahead to do it, if I haven't worked out a way to predict the red ball I'm planning to buy 43 tickets with one number for the whites, each possible red ball number.

It's a long way from that, however.  A couple of draws ago I was feeling ahead enough, and the numbers seemed to be behaving themselves well enough, so's I bought an extra five tickets with the multiplier, with the same numbers on them.  Crashed and burned completely on that.

I doubt you're missing anything. 45 pops up a lot, and 11.  It's just another piece of the puzzle to give cause for knuckling the noggin.  The other way of looking at the same data is to separate out the individual dates and count the frequency of each number that hits with it on the perzact draw.  Gives you a whole nuther look at things that way, and worth the exercize.

        9, 12, 35, 41, 51 and 36 for the red on PB tonight.

Another leak between the timbers where I am.  12, 41 and 51 were on my tickets, but the 9 that whispered to me didn't make the cut.  I haven't gone back and studied how 35 managed to sneak into the equation and from where, and the redball is as much a mystery at 36 as it would have been with most other numbers.  But now we have the last draw of the month coming.  A time of joy, serenity, and everyone wearing his Sunday best, sitting in the pews behaving himself.  That's how the first and last draws of the month tend to comport themselves.  Time to figure on some numbers with their cowlicks matted down to their foreheads and their necks bulging out from under starched collars and neckties, pious good conduct for the final draw of the month.

        Jack.

Lessee.  Next draw is on the 30th.  Last draw of the month.  Hasn't been a number repeated itself two consecutive draws since 23 did it on March 12.  Almost certainly means one of these Communists is going to repeat next draw.

Sooooo, in the interest of sharing and good will, any ideas which of these numbers from last night will be the repeater?

We also have 3 (long over) due numbers and two obvious skippers, plus some other possibles.

            Interested in seeing some ideas.

I'd say the short course on Dancers with Numbers is more or less complete.  Final exam is Wednesday.

I don't know, LottoMike.  Some people thing genetics and environment can be a factor.  Guess you'll just have to wait and see which prevails.

                      Thanks for the post Alonzo.

I don't necessarily agree with all your observations, but I mostly don't disagree entirely with them except the last one.

Where I come from every rainy day is a joy, though there just aren't enough of them.  The sunny ones get to be a challenge, most times.  I'll swap you even for your rainy days for my sunny ones.

                      Best to you,

                      Jack
