I am in the process of slowly re-coding several parts of Lottery Post.  Right now I am working on the editor itself.

As a result, it is possible that one day you open a page and see some kind of strange error.

The most likely cause of that error is that your PC is still using part of the OLD page, and mixing it with some of the NEW code.

What you need to do is to clear your browser cache.

To clear your browser cache:

  1. In Internet Explorer, select the Internet Options item in the Tools menu.  Then, click the Delete Files button, and then click OK.
  2. In Firefox, select the Options item in the Tools menu.  Then, Click the Privacy icon at the top of the box, then select the Cache tab (may already be selected), then click the Clear Cache Now button.

After your browser cache is cleared, try refreshing the page, and hopefully the error will not occur.

By the way, if you notice the toolbar at the bottom of the editor (instead of the top), that means you're using the NEW editor.

When I posted my p-3 forum topic earlier, the editor was on the bottom, but now it's on top again.

I deleted my temporary int.files also, since.

      Works great either way.

I'm just a little clueless on the hint part where it says to not paste from other applications or websites, but do it this and that way. I'm not sure how to do it the way you explained it, but then again, I'm still learning computer lingo...LOL

      Thanx..

To paste from other sites, use the button on the toolbar that looks like this:

That's all there is to it, no lingo to learn.

About your comments with the toolbar on top vs. on the bottom, I am trying to say that there are still some places where the old editor is being used.

You can tell the places where the old editor is still being used, because the toolbar is on the top.

Eventually they will all be on the bottom, but IT IS A SLOW CHANGE that is SLOWLY being implemented on each page, one at a time.

I am trying to be as clear as possible, and purposely avoiding the use of any computer terminology that could even be the slightest bit confusing.  Is there anything at all that is not clear?

No. I just noticed that you did mention that earlier, about the editor. Sorry for annoying you.

Todd, I seem to be having a problem. I want to post a new topic in the lottery system section but the message section doesn't show up for me. The title area shows up, but not the message area so I can't post a message. I use Mozilla Firefox. Is my brower causing this to happen?

                  Here's what I see:

If the page has not finished loading, then the editor will not show up until it's finished.  Sometimes a slow-loading banner ad will cause that to happen.  Try pressing the Esacpe key on your keyboard to see if it helps.

I tried that and it doesn't seem to work. I even opened up IE and am having the same problem. I cleaned out my cache also to see if that would work, but it was a no go. I can reply to topics of course. I just can't start any.

My guess is that you are blocking JavaScript or cookies or something.  Try disabling your firewall (or whatever you use), and see if that helps.  If it helps, you know that it needs to be configured correctly - namely to not block anything at lotterypost.com.

The other thing that could be blocked (or is being cached) is CSS files (cascading style sheets). I constantly update those with new files, so maybe you're still using an old one.

Todd I finally got it working! Heh. I went through my browser and such and still couldn't figure out why my message wasn't showing up so then I went to my control panel (on LP) and went to board settings. I clicked on Use the rich text editor and saved. I guess before the you made the changes I didn't need to use it and after the changes I did. Strange. Anyways, thanks for taking the time to help me figure out why it wasn't allowing me to start new topics. =)
