I believe that the universe couldn't give two shmidtz about anyone's lottery ambitions

What's a shmidtz?  What?  I think I know.  I was getting a gallon of water from the machine at Publix and a sign read "please, no shmidtz."  So I think someone once tried to stick his shmidtz in the coin dispenser.

Also, i wanted to give my condolences to the family member loss Justxploring.

I would never pray to win a "game".  I would however pray that God grant me the ability and give me the strength to support my family.

Just wondering how many of you in here pray before you buy any form of lotto.

I told someone before that if they wanted to win they better pray for a miricle and someone else jumped my case telling me that Gambling was the devil and I was wrong to tell that other person to pray to god on something that was the devils work.

I love doubles and remember, it's just a game!!!!!!

          well  I  believe  GOD  already  knows  when  people  buy  lottery  tickets  so  praying  only  helps  ;

          (2) when  you  pray  BELIEVE  and  "ye  shall  recieve " doubt  worry  and  fear  are  the  negative  results .....THATS  WHY  PRAYERS    DONT  GET  RESULTS  and  you  will  never  achieve  your  goal  of  winning  the  lottery ;SO  KEEP  PRAYING  WITH  CONVICTION  AND  YOU'LL  WIN  MORE  OFTEN !!!!

Never  try  to  hide  something  your  doing  from  GOD  didn't  EVE  try  that  one  in  the  Garden  of  Eden  ???????/Blue Angel

            No.

I don't think God has any control over the lotteries.

              One of my morning prayers.

                              Prayer of Jabez

"OH, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain."

love to nibble those micey feet.

Maybe we first need to define the word "prayer" since some of us think it's asking for something.  I've been told prayer is listening.  Some believe we should pray for each other and world peace. Others believe the process of praying is praising the Lord for everything He has already done for us and all He has created.

Maybe this topic belongs in Mystical, and I'm not sure we should get into a religious discussion on LP(although we often do) but it's hard to say if we do something or not when the act itself has yet to be defined.  I am changing my previous answer to "No" since I do wish for a win, but I won't call it prayer.

Please  don't  go  MYSTICAL  since  that  would  involve  DEVIL  SPIRITS  ...AND  WE  DON'T  NEED  THAT....BESIDES  PRAYER  I   THINK  MEANS  - PETITION- and  make  known  your  petition  to  GOD -we  request  our  desires  to  God ...we  don't  demand  ....winning  a  lottery  game  requries  a  whole  lot  of  desire  to  win  and  some  cash ; I  played $$24.00  of  NY   pick  10  tonight  and won  $$3.00...petitions  have  to  be  clear  and  a  set  purpose  before  the  fact... I  should  have  just  played  my  heart  and  my  chances  would  have  been  better  and  if    I  lost  a  lot  cheaper  to  play....    I  am  glad  your  back  justxploring...life  goes  on ....win  or  lose.....were  not  n  charge @

By the way, how does God and / or organized religion view gambling ?

I know that several lottery winners have made generous contributions to their churches and I've heard of some churches turning the money down because it came from gambling...

                          Just curious....

                            Just curious....

I have yet to read anything that makes me believe gambling is a sin. I have prayed for large sums of money when I needed it-and received it, even though the odds of that happening were 1000000 to 1. I have prayed for jobs and for my husband a job- and recieved it, even though they were out of our league, but we were/are successful(sp?). I am a firm believer in prayer. Although, I cannot see "needing" a lottery win., I haven't, as of yet, asked for a jackpot win from GOD. That would be a "want" I am not into praying for "wants." If I get a "want" that is cool, but I will not pray for a "want," only what I "need."

And I plan on paying my tithes out of that money, so I hope my church doesn't turn it down. But, then, I don't see telling them where the money came from anyway. They may have to know it was from me because my name would be on the check, but they do not have to know the source of my income. If asked, I have the response "noneya'", as in none ya' business, ready and waiting. I am in the habit of saying that to people anyway. It is no one's business where my money comes from. My "orders" from GOD are to pay 10% tithes on ANY first fruits I receive so they will be blessed. And I will do it.

However, let me leave this little tidbit with you... Jesus said, Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
                            and
Matthew 18:19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on Earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." NOTE - The prayer of agreement is powerful, and I personally know it works for healings and calming storms.

I have been itching for a chance to share that with all of you since pacattack ragged me about receiving answers to your prayers. I told you they probably wasn't doing it right. And how do you know if something is right? It works.

                            voir-vous dans mes reves!Cool
