Are you totally serious??
What's up with that statement? Are you resentful that some people work can hard to get ahead, be successful and financially independent?
And even if it was inherited, who cares?
I'm glad your not in charge of who gets to play the lottery.
No, That's not what I wrote. I encourage people to work hard getting an education and making money from it, earned or inherited, but what gets my goat is people who are already doing very well and wanting more.
It could be me who gets that winning QP instead of that rich person standing in line ahead of me, or the rich guy who purchased a winning QP when he/she left the store 20 minutes ago.

Greed was one of the major reasons the housing crisis occured. Everyone wants to be a billionaire, they're not happy being millionaires because they want to compete with the Jones'. It's all a completely plastic, pretentious lifestyle of impressing their friends and family. Greedy humans will leave no stoned unturned even if it means saying to hell with everyone who works their butts off to make a living, as long as they make tons of money in the process. greedy lending practices to people who they knew couldn't afford to pay the mortgage, bundling the loans and selling them to high end corporate investors who in turn wanted to make another billion on the backs of the working class, knowing full well, that bubble was going to burst and knowing full well the Government would come to their rescue.
It burns my blood.
Same with the oil companies. Greedy speculators who'll jump at any dumb reason to hike the prices. Hey look, that frog just farted, let's raise the price tomorrow!

Greed is a two sided coin.
That same greed is what fuels ambition, innovation, progress, advances in medicine and technology.
It's not a perfect world we live in, never will be.
When the ambitious, innovative or greedy person is given lemons.....they will make lemonade.

Seriously?
Greed fuels ambition? I think most of the people who have true ambition work hard to make money by providing a product or service that will help the masses in some way, making their lives a little easier to cope with. The person makes money and the people benefit. Progress? That all depends. Progress with a hidden agenda? advances in medicine? Now that's laughable at best. How many billions are the pharmaceutical companies raking in every year when we all know that what we eat is the killer. Popping pills is just a patch, not the solution. We all know, well most of us, that there are cures for diseases but the companies would go out of business not being able to sell them pills. And technology, well, that goes without saying. Sure we like out gadgets, and medical advances like the machines that can diagnose a problem with better accuracy.
But I think you're missing the point. 99% of the people in all those ares you mentioned have an agenda. They don't give a rat's ass about us. You really believe most of them really care about our welfare? if they did we wouldn't have an economical crisis in this country. if you had the means to dig deep enough, you'd find a skeleton or two in their closets. There may be a very small percent who do what they do for the betterment of society, but in my opinion, most ambitious, innovative business minded individuals are after something bigger than they reveal. They will screw anyone who stands in their way to success, and that's wrong. if i was wrong about this, this world wouldn't be the way it is, so I know I'm right. Just look around you. Drop a dollar in a crowd and watch them tear each other to pieces to get it.
