I am proud to say I am a Christian.I am a Southern Baptist , one of the more conservative groups. I am not a bible scholar and do not know if gambling is wrong in Gods eyes are not. I know I gamble and at times in excess. Some in my family do not agree with it and many church members probably disagree. To me if the lottery/casinos is gambling and wrong then the stock market, commodities, cattle business , and many other business are a form of gambling and probably wrong.

What in the world are you talking about LOL Who said anything about not liking Christians..........lol

"Who said anything about not liking Christians..."

You did with your headline: "Christians against lottery and gambling"  which is a lie and you know it.

There is another religion which strictly forbids gambling (and you know it) but you wouldn't dare put their name in your headline in a disparaging way.

Cuz you ain't got the cojones for it.

B2B, I am of Christian faith and I play the lottery. The statement I made was in reference to a friend that I have that is also of Christian faith that was so against the lottery until she realized how it was going to benefit her. There are some Christians that believe playing the lottery is a sin, but I for one, do not. I also know many other Christians that don't see a problem with it either.

I just tell those people who refuse to believe that GOD  created everything that is, and that there is a book in the old testament called "Numbers"   You can also ask them how come everything that GOD did has to do with numbers. For example 40 days and nights, 7 days ect you get where I am going. Good Luck and I hope you win big to see if she will accept some bill money or a donation for a roof  on the church!

I once heard a minister preach about how winning the lottery was NOT a sin. It was a great sermon and actually made me feel quite better (I was pretty young and just starting to play back then). Of course, I'm sure he was hoping if someone did, they would tithe nicely.  ;-)

But truly, he was a great minister and had a huge church because he was so inspiring. I missed hearing his sermons when I moved away.

And when I win, I'm planning on tithing, to many churches (depending on how much I win).

Now, I do know 2 sets of people that I would like to give money to that may not take it because it would be won from the lottery. On one hand, they need the money. On the other hand, I don't want them to see me as Satan offering for their soul. I guess I would offer it to them and if they don't want/take it, I'll ask what charity they would like me to donate it to instead. Win-win, I guess.

                    "conspiracy theorists are a buzz"

Yeah, so are phonies and frauds like you.

"again I really don't know what in the world you are talking about"

LOL, yeah, that's very believable too.

I wonder if you had, say, a Bohemian friend who said he and his father thought the lottery was bad...

Would you then make a post with this title? ------> Bohemians Against Lottery and Gambling!

I kinda doubt it - unless Bohemians were the whipping boy with the in-crowd at the time and you thought saying that would make you fit in and seem hip and cool.

I can read you like a book son, cuz you're all the same.

You're a victim and devotee of group-think cuz ya simply got nothin' else.

So put a lid on that garbage, you're embarrassing yourself.

The same church that is against the lottery will have a bake sale, church raffle and bingo!!

On top of that they will pass the collection plate, ask for tithe, love offerings, give to the building fund

and some of these churches even have a "pastor appreciation day"Roll Eyes

These MegaChurch pastors got their own books, tapes, cd's and dvd's, you think all of it

is for free? nope! You have to pay for that!! Everything in the church is for sale!!!

Some churhes even have an ATM machine right in the dang lobby!! lol

Lot of the churches out here are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites!!

Has anyone else experienced this...it being sunday and all I am reminded of what my sister keeps saying...Playing the lottery is gambling and gambling is a sin...her church is big on not gambling and such...her pastor has said on more than one occassion that lottery winnings would not be apprieciated or accepted as tithe...which shocked the crap out of me LOL...now I've asked her point blank "So if i won you wouldn't want any of the money"? LOL I have yet to receive a straight answer from her on that...but has anyone else experienced this I mean I can't even mention the lottery around her without a chastising look....LOL it dosen't stop me by the way....

The "sin" is when you allow gambling to consume you, nothing or no one comes before GOD!!!!
