Yeah, I tip everybody for everything, from the mailman to the guy who puts new tires on my truck.

It irks me though when a clerk tells me to remember them if I win big. Makes me think they're the kind of people I can't stand - cheapskates.

So I probably won't tip the ones who do that.

I Agree! I tip if you don't act as though I owe you something.......

    Depends on the clerk.

If he's grumpy, rude and is more concerned with eating his Doritos chips behind the counter, than waiting on his customers, no tip.  Razz

Any clerk squawking away on the cell phone, no tip.  Cussing Face

Any clerk picking their nose, no tip.  Troll

    LOLI Agree!

If the clerk is eating Doritos no tip.

However if is funyuns, then i might consider it (heavily dependent upon whether its a .25 cent bag or a 1.00 bag)

And if the clerk is eating Dominos Pizza, then its mandatory to tip.

And if the clerk happens to be eating rib steak or lobster, then he deserves the prize money instead of myself.

    P.S.

Its also ok to tip if after the guy picks his nose, he eats it.  Otherwise no tip!Mad

Recently someone won $8K from the store I frequent and the guy tipped $300 to the store clerk who since become a friend. I know others like the guy who won on 100 str8 Pick3 tickets and didn't tip a dime to the guys.

Would you tip if you won big ?

I would tip if I won the JP. The places I buy my tickets (there are two) the clerks are always friendly and helpful so I would be glad to tip the clerk who sold me my winning ticket.

It was always in the stars for me to be a lottery winner.

            No.

If you decide you're going to tip someone when you hit big enough to consider doing
it then make sure you know your clerk. Will he/ she talk about you/your business when
you are not there? Will they expect a cut everytime you turn a ticket in? When you go
in the store can you feel the anticipation on the other side of the counter when they
make an instant ticket sale? Loyalty is everything to me...breech that and you don't get
even an update on whether or not I'm winning big lately. Most clerks cross that line.

Keep your mouth shut - your eyeballs on your own business - don't gossip
at my expense - and most of all....you want a tip? Buy your own ticket because chances
are you won't get anything from me. That's my money and you had nothing to do
            with it.

Tipping/giving for services and causes are a very different story. Restaurants - service
stations - Salvation army buckets - homeless - children - people getting $5 at the pump
            - etc....that's who shares my winnings.

                  Ridgerunner,

LOL  the blueberries would be about 20 miles south in Hammonton, the blueberry capitol of the world, no hills though.

But if its' about music, maybe you're thinking about,

I would tip the clerk if I won with a quick pic...even though the machine chose the numbers...but the size of the tip would depend on how much I won.....If I am choosing my numbers and I win big, I'm sure I still would if it was a clerk that I liked.......

                        I Agree!

I agree. Tipping should be outlawed. Whatever job you have, you should do it to the best of your ability. Don't expect a tip only a thank you. It's getting to a point where tipping is mandatory and it has to be 10-20%. It really sucks to be in the service sector where tipping is the only way you can make ends meet. When I lose, I don't expect them to give me a tip for losing so why should they expect a tip when I win. I picked the numbers! Now, if they were to give me a number tip and it falls, of course the only fair thing to do is to give them something as a thank you. Still, you have to be careful who you tip.

                          Play to win!
