Sudden wealth makes you suddenly wealthy if you weren't already wealthy.

But it doesn't make you suddenly smart if you weren't already smart.

I remember on the first Curse of the Lottery show. The financial advisor that runs the Sudden Wealth institiute said "Winning the lottery doesn't make you smarter, prettier, thinner or taller. It just means you have a bigger bank account'.

I saw that episode where the personal trainer wanted a $2 million dollar Bugatti for wedding gift? That guy is a shameless golddigger.

Yup, crazy. I don't know how he can go look at 2M cars when he knows only his girlfriend can afford it.

I Agree! The Fick's were not that bright. But they were great entertainment.

Yep, and that's what some of these big jp winners don't seem to understand.

The only smart one I have seen so far on that show is that guy who won like 80M and when he was asked what he wants to do with it he said he will turn it into like 200M and he said he was doing pretty well with investing etc. He was that guy who lived by that river.

That makes more sense than rushing out to make movies cuz you think all you need is a lot of money to be a moviemaker.

The son was a financial wizard, storing a bunch of worthless junk he paid full price for at a pawn shop in a motel room for 80 bucks a night.

                That was a classic.

I think all lottery winners also need an "art" 101 class. There are so many rip off collectibles and people don't realize that they are buying junk and so are 100000 other people. I saw some show (maybe it was hoarders or maybe the lottery show?) where this woman had hundreds of current disney "collectibles" she thought would be worth a fortune. What goes up in price (99.9% of the time) are items not made for the "collectibles market."  I think so many of these people have the beanie baby mentality and we saw what happened to the beanie baby crash (it was a fad only).
