I thought that was the look you get after you catch a delicious bass for dinner.

I wanted to keep one but Bill Dance slapped me in the head and made me give it to Jimmie Houston who kissed and released it. Man i use to love those shows. LOL

My curiosity lies as in how many computer generated quick picks are duplicated on any one drawing throughout the country ?  10-20-30 %  or more?

I like the idea of 1 by me and 1 by the QP method...

I think that's a good way to do it. I run a lottery pool at my office and we mix numbers we picked with quick picks. We went through a long streak in which we were winning lower tier prizes on every 2 week cycle, but lately we've been in a slump.

What I'm trying to do is determine if playing the same set of numbers every drawing or a different quick pick will increase the chance of matching any numbers in the game and I'm finding if just buying one or two tickets, it probably doesn't matter.

I do agree that playing numbers like birthdays, fortune cookie numbers, etc., probably doesn't improve chances of winning, but it does increase the chances of having to share if the ticket does win. There have been cases in which playing fortune cookie numbers and the numbers from "Lost" have resulted in large numbers of people winning lower tier prizes around the country. Even so, just for fun, every year around my birthday, which is coming up this week, and my wedding anniversary, I play sets of numbers based on those dates. On my 10th wedding anniversary 3 years ago, a Powerball ticket played with my anniversary date won me $400 and I was 1 number off from $40,000.

As for how many quick picks are duplicated, it's hard to say considering there have been many drawing where 1 quick pick was the only winner.

How do your own numbers give you better odds when most jackpots have been won by Quick Picks?

It isn't what percentage of winners are won with SP or QP. Since QP's account for more twice as many tickets as SP, wins with QP would out number wins with SP even if SP was twice as likely to result in winning.

What matters is the percentage of each type that result in winning. Of course that percentage is essentially the same.

After having run 100's of millions (and I do mean 100's of millions) of simulated draws I can say it doesn't matter if you play quick picks or your own numbers, over the long run both will hit the jackpot about the same amount of times.

The down side of playing your own numbers (if you are using birthday's, anniversaies, age, fortune cookie etc)  is that there is likely one or more OTHER players playing the same numbers.

The down side of playing QP's is that you can't choose numbers that other people are unlikely to choose.

Well now, just what kind of quick picks y'all talking about? The jp games or just quick picks in general? I suppose with

a OP name like that, you're talking jackpots. I don't think you are 'the one' and I think your subject title was meant to

be more than a public service announcement. Seems like I know you from posting before under another name? Anyway..

quick picks and never play don't go together. I get quick picks for p3, p4 and have won quite a bit on the last day of a

string of quick picks for one of PA's big games @ 5 each per day for 7 days.

                  They work.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Yep, and these same 'no good' numbers are winning all the time...and BIG. Just like the numbers that fall into succession after they've been officially posted...they come in two's very frequently. People better learn to think outside of the box at some point.
