I think this can be used as an element of filter.
In fact, I already used it with very few difference in one of my methods. Initial digit 0 is decade unit, Initial digit 1 is decade 10, etc...
So, the results are similar to your first digit method. Now, I'll look at predicting which initial digits will pop up.
This is a quick prediction for to-morrow 26 SEPT Euromillions 5/50. Just a test to see : 1 1 3 3 4
In my method, I include the fifth number. For the end digit, I0-9 I have another method.

Number of digits which pop up.
Look now at vertical columns and see the columns with 0. End digit with 0 only is clear. Must pop up.
Initial digit 1 begin to pop up. Worth looking at it.
Initial digits : No real good candidates. Maybe 0,1,2 and 4.
End digits 7,1 and 0 are good candidates. 2 and 3 are also good.
Now, you can combine Initial digits and end digits : 7,1,27,21,20,47,41,40
That's just an example so that you can understand the system. You can apply your own ideas now.
