I always try to wrap my brain around this. IMHO the only reason there is a high % is because more folks buy a QP vs figuring out there own numbers   If you have 100 people and 98 buy QPs and only 2 do their own numbers then duh.....lol  but, if you take the same 100 people and have 50 buy QPs and the other 50 work on getting their own numbers I fell that margin of 70-80% will be reduced drastically

would I quit playing!  Hmmm probably not but wouldn't buy that often as I love the challenge more than I'd  love the win

MM ticket sales are around 15 to 16 million with start-up jackpots ($15 million) and increases less than $1 million every drawing, but sales spike higher around the $100 million jackpot. If there is a 50/50 ratio, it's probably with the smaller jackpots and the ratio begins favoring QPs as the jackpot grows. QPs are probably over 95% of ticket sales when jackpot frenzy begins. To my knowledge there are no published QP to self-pick figures so your guess is as good as CT's.

Sales were almost $4 million more on a $106 million jackpot than the previous $96 million, but the next two jackpots were only slightly higher. Maybe players are only occasionally playing MM and/or PB and spending their lottery dollars on the smaller jackpot state games.

Yes!!!! - You need to THINK SMART & PLAY SMART. QP's are not the answer. Yeah I heard that 70-80 % of the players play QP's & 70-80 % of the winners are QP's.  My answer to that is:  I rather be a Big fish in a small pond than a small fish in a Big pond.

This is my opinion for what it is worth..................................................

Good Luck & Best Wishes To ALL - QP Players & those that pick there own.

I play QP's and my own picks, (well, my picks being LP's rng usually). Personally, I don't care if I win on a QP or if the numbers come from the moon. I just want to win.

I have to wonder about those that are so down on QP's; I have a question. If ya'll bought a QP and it won a jackpot, would you throw it away?

Who do you think would buy a lottery ticket to throw away even if it was a winner?  A gift for a friend or family member, misplace maybe, but never throw away.

With raffle tickets you have some limited control over the approximate raffle ticket number you end up with because they are sequential. Quick Picks are as random as can be.

Psyko has tried and played QPs for many years..after many states started offering them, because the lottery buying public demanded a quick fix for their lottery ticket "big" jackpot greed. Psyko bough more QPs than most lottery players and won>>>won a lot more than spent. But, and yes, things changed

as always a but out there somewhere, Pukestate lottery terminals got watered down, got adultrated, got crappier and crappier and spit out a large

Mad No Nod Bash  bunch of lousy RNG numbers. IN NO WAY am I TRYING to tell ANYONE how to pick or buy UR lottery numbers. THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE  Hyper

I would still play, just not as much and it would really SUCK! Just think if you say 'I think TRIPS will hit in the 3 way' but you can't play them.  And of course they come out.

I still find it intriguing that those who claim to hate quick picks can't wait to play raffles.

Especially if you consider a lottery with a $50M jackpot and a ticket price of $1 as opposed to a $20 raffle and a $1M prize. The lottery $1 wins $50M, each one of the raffle dollars wins $250,000.

                          White Bounce

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                          Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

A few of those raffle tickets will win the top prize in one drawing, but none of of the MM tickets sold in the last 13 drawings won a jackpot.
