I have to wonder about those that are so down on QP's; I have a question. If ya'll bought a QP and it won a jackpot, would you throw it away?

Who do you think would buy a lottery ticket to throw away even if it was a winner?  A gift for a friend or family member, misplace maybe, but never throw away.

Someone who used to post here regularly under a few different names said he would.

Posted that if he won a jp on a QP he wouldn't even cash it.

Hint: Oh the irony...

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

    Let me rephrase the question.

If ya'll (that's Texan for "you all") bought a QP and it won a jackpot, or even a million, would you be disappointed? Would you be ashamed to show up at the lottery commission office and cash it in?

    Ok, 2 questions.

I prefer to pick my own numbers when I have the time or not play at all but I've occasionally brought a QP or two to just to be in a game so if and when I buy them they get the same attention and treatment every lottery ticket I buy, if they're winners I cash them.

I still find it intriguing that those who claim to hate quick picks can't wait to play raffles.

Especially if you consider a lottery with a $50M jackpot and a ticket price of $1 as opposed to a $20 raffle and a $1M prize. The lottery $1 wins $50M, each one of the raffle dollars wins $250,000.

That's news to me. Who ever said that?

Nice try to parallel the QP/ Raffle ticket comparison but you're not even in the same ballpark.

Where, oh where, do you think quick picks come from?

Where do you think the QPs here on LP come from?

                  Not a RNG?

                  This should be good.

Well Midget Toss, I've seen some members say they hate RNGs picking winning numbers but they don't mind RNGs picking their QP tickets.

Nice try to parallel the QP/ Raffle ticket comparison--What's the difference, you have no control of either one.

They hate the RNG's picking winning numbers because they don't trust them, they prefer ball drawings, ClangStang.

While I have nothing against buying QPs, when I was playing 6/49 games, I looked at it like winning two 14 million to 1 drawings. But that's still less odds than the 258 million to 1 MM odds.

I don't see the relevance of 1 LP member out of over 167,000 saying they "hate QPs", but then again it's much better odds than the minimum 175 million odds against someone getting a QP with the same numbers as a self pick.

No, I would not play anymore if their were only quickpicks. I have to know how & why the #s were chosen.

I prefer to pick my own numbers using a program that uses a RNG but combinations not in the parameters I choose are filtered out.  I could not look as all the combinations and a RNG is the only way to choose them.  I'm still looking at about 5-6K of them randomly to pick 500 within those parameter from which to pick 10 to play.
