Do Not Feed the Dolphins

By Gary North: http://lewrockwell.com/north/north1121.html

Why shouldn't people be allowed to feed dolphins? Because, marine biologists say, giving dolphins free food addicts them to handouts. People are turning dolphins into welfare bums.

The federal government's fish police see the threat. Handouts destroy the ability of dolphins, who are very smart fish (mammals), to survive on their own. Mothers do not teach survival skills to their offspring. They teach them to live off welfare.

Tourists are creating inter-generational welfare dependence. In a 2009 article in the "Tampa Bay Times," we read this from a biologist employed by the National Marine Fisheries Service. "We are able to document lineage, from grandmother to mother to calf, all following fishing boats and taking thrown-back fish."

Marine biologists, who themselves are being fed by the federal government, understand the threat to ecology posed by welfare economics. It is a bad idea, they say, to addict smart fish to handouts. But the logic of this position is not applied to human beings, who are far more clever than dolphins. What is gospel at the National Marine Fishing Service is anathema at the Department of Health and Human Services. What the government's experts on fish see as a threat to the fish, the government's experts on human beings do not see as a threat to people.

What is the threat? Creating permanent dependence.

Beggary and pilfering – Florida dolphins engaging in dangerous illegal activities
http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/news/lib/334

Feeding the Florida dolphins is illegal under both state and federal law, with federal law banning wild dolphin feeding in the early 1990s. Feeding wild dolphins can also be dangerous and the abovementioned “Beggar” dolphin has for instance sent dozens of overfriendly patters to the hospital for stitches and antibiotics.

How soon before Libs try to get dolphins the right to vote?

Bill Would Suspend Passport Rights For Delinquent Taxpayers

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A bill authored by a Southland lawmaker that could potentially allow the federal government to prevent any Americans who owe back taxes from traveling outside the U.S. is one step closer to becoming law.

Senate Bill 1813 was introduced back in November by Senator Barbara Boxer (D-Los Angeles) to "reauthorize Federal-aid highway and highway safety construction programs, and for other purposes".

...

In addition to authorizing appropriations for federal transportation and infrastructure programs, the “Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act” or “MAP-21″ includes a provision that would allow for the “revocation or denial” of a passport for anyone with “certain unpaid taxes” or “tax delinquencies”.

---

Nothing to stop the threshold or scope from being changed.

Who was that one "crazy" guy who said something about laws & walls eventually being used to keep people IN, rather than OUT, and they laughed at him? Can't. quite. think. of. his. name ...

Cross-Border Martial Law: Stage 1

http://lewrockwell.com/north/north1117.html

Inaugural Meeting of North American Defence Ministers Joint Statement
http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=15141

“By virtue of our geography, our peoples, and our trading relationship, our three nations share many defense interests. Threats to North America and the hemisphere are increasingly complex and require non-traditional responses. Building upon the trilateral collaboration under the North American Leaders Summit process, we share a determination to enhance our common understanding of those threats and of the approaches needed to address them.

Could someone tell me who/what is so strong as to be a threat to ALL THREE nations? Skeptical

JetBlue pilot has midair meltdown

Best thing is that he left the pit instead of having time to bring the plane down.

How did Thievery & Sexual Assault miss this? Too many hotties in line & goodies in the luggage, that day?

"An affidavit by an FBI agent shows trouble for the flight started before the Airbus A320 took off from New York City's LaGuardia Airport enroute to Las Vegas with 141 passengers and crew.

Osbon was late arriving at the airport, and missed the routine pre-flight crew briefing, agent John Whitworth said in the affidavit. Whitworth said problems continued as the plane took off."  - Then the flight shouldn't have taken off. Cussing Face

Flight 191 was diverted to Amarillo, Texas, on Tuesday, following what authorities described as erratic behavior by Capt. Clayton Frederick Osbon, who allegedly ran through the cabin before passengers tackled him in the galley. -- There's video of it, but it's still "alleged".

"passengers tackled him" -- Not armed Air Marshalls, passengers.
Anyone notice how you keep paying for "protection" you aren't getting?

Here's a gem "Doctors must rely on self disclosure by a pilot on questionnaires about any mental health issues". Yeah, like on the HIPPA form where they ask if you're a terr'izt. Wonder how many they've caught that way. Roll Eyes

Twitter troll jailed for "inciting racial hatred"

http://in.reuters.com/article/2012/03/27/britain-muamba-abuse-idINDEE82Q0EI20120327

A student who mocked footballer Fabrice Muamba on Twitter after the Bolton Wanderers midfielder collapsed during a match was jailed on Tuesday for inciting racial hatred.

Liam Stacey, 21, provoked revulsion with comments made while the Bolton Wanderers star still lay on the pitch.

The 23-year-old midfielder was left fighting for his life after suffering a cardiac arrest during an FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur on March 17.

Fans in the stadium and those viewing on live television watched in horror as Muamba fell to the ground during the quarter-final clash that was abandoned.

Police were inundated with complaints as members of the public, former soccer player Stan Collymore among them, reported the student's comments.
