Food Stamps For Tattoos, Porn, Manicures, And Bail Money
There was a time when there were standards for getting food stamps (now EBT cards). The food stamp program was designed to help families with the necessities. You couldn’t buy anything you want with food stamps.
When my oldest son worked at a grocery store, he was indignant when a woman came through the checkout line with foods that were not permitted to be purchased with food stamps. She protested to the manager. He let it pass. What does he care? He’ll get his money no matter a food-stamp holder purchases.
More than 45 million people – 15 percent – are on food stamps. That’s about one-sixth of the population. A general rule of economics is, “The more money you throw at a program, the more you get of it.” Is it any wonder that obesity is America’s number-one health problem? Maybe Mayor Bloomberg should be looking at EBT cards as the problem for obesity and not Big-Gulp drinks.
It’s now worse than this, at least in Massachusetts. “If you are a tax payer in Massachusetts, you get to fund EBT cards for those who want to buy tattoos, manicures, body piercings or porn.” The legislature had the good sense to stop the madness, but it seems that Governor Deval Patrick had other ideas.
“According to the Boston Herald, which first reported the veto, the governor berated the legislature’s stab at banning the purchase of specific items like manicures, tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, and bail by saying the move was ‘political grandstanding’ at a time when such reforms are already on track elsewhere.”

...communist mentor
A new book being released this week chronicles Barack Obama’s early days in Hawaii when he was mentored by Frank Marshall Davis, a card carrying communist.
Dr. Paul Kengor’s book, The Communist, has the subtitle of Frank Marshall Davis: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mentor. The book details Kengor’s research and interviews with those who knew Obama back in those days. Although the book traces the influence that Davis had Obama, Kengor is careful not to come out right and label Obama a communist, but does say that the influences of that teaching explains many of his policies we’ve seen over the past three years.
He was even able to access released FBI profiles that contained information that verified some of Kengor’s findings. In one account, Kengor describes his interview with John Drew who knew Obama well while attending Occidental College. Kengor quotes Drew as saying:
“Obama was already an ardent Marxist when I met him in the fall of 1980."
Kengor writes:
“If Obama was on the Marxist-Leninist left, we have no accounting, from Obama or anyone, of a switch. Quite the contrary, in Obama’s memoirs, we hear about him attending socialist conferences and ‘hanging out’ with Marxist professors, but never any repudiation of those conferences, professors, or even a tiny, passing comment suggesting these were fanciful musings from a politically misguided youth Kengor also quotes Davis’ writing on the economy that is quite descriptive of the economic policies of President Obama. He advocated that to stimulate the economy, the federal government needed to collect taxes and then redistribute that money for health insurance, education, low cost housing, and increased social security benefits. Davis said not to rely on businesses, private or large or even Wall Street to stimulate the economy but to do it through taxation.
Sound familiar?
Obama has never denied his association with communists, Marxists and socialists and even has some of them serving in his administration. His actions in office follow closely to the party lines of socialism and Marxism. Kengor’s book leaves no doubt about his communist mentor’s influence on Obama and that influence is still seen in his actions today.
If Obama had openly announced that he was a communist or Marxist, he never would have been elected. He has lied to everyone in the U.S. about his background and continues to hide so many things about himself and that I can’t believe anyone would be so stupid to put any trust in him. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit for Obama to come out of the Marxist closet if he wins a second term. If that happens, God help us all.

A year ago, President Barack Obama called Republicans “hostage takers” for staying true to their mandate and refusing to agree to tax hikes as part of the debt ceiling deal. Now, the Washington Post reports that Democrats are explicitly threatening to allow “nearly $600 billion worth of tax hikes and spending cuts”–otherwise known as “Taxmageddon”–in January unless Republicans agree to raise taxes on the highest earners. It’s the clearest sign of which party is, in fact, the most extreme–and the most willing to put party ahead of country.
“Taxmageddon” marks the expiration date of the Bush tax cuts, as well as the end of the payroll tax holiday. It is so dramatic that it risks plunging the economy definitively back into deep recession. Democrats, including the president, have campaigned against the Bush tax cuts for more than a decade, but have never had the political will–not even with full control of both houses of Congress and the White House–to repeal them. They settled for letting the tax cuts expire for “the rich” alone, but could not agree on the definition of “rich,” with President Obama targeting households earning more than $250,000, and Senate Democrats pushing for $1 million.
Now, with the presidential election looming, and President Obama insisting on his $250,000 definition, Senate Democrats have relented–though not to the extent of allowing an actual vote on the proposal. The proposal would not raise anywhere near enough money to cover the budget deficit in a single year. And though the president once warned against raising taxes on anyone during economic hard times, he is using his class warfare tactics to propel his lackluster campaign.

A soon-to-be-released, game-changing election book will reveal the blueprint for a second Barack Obama presidential term.
Slated for release Aug. 7 by WND Books, “Fool Me Twice: Obama’s Shocking Plans for the Next Four Years Exposed” uncovers the template for Obama’s next four years – the actual, extensive plans created by Obama’s own top advisers and progressive strategists.
The explosive book unveils all the main areas of Obama’s second-term domestic policy onslaught – jobs, wages, health care, immigration “overhaul,” electoral “reform,” national energy policy, Pentagon plans and much more.
“Just as ‘Unfit for Command’ provided the margin of defeat for John Kerry in 2004, ‘Fool Me Twice’ will ensure Obama serves only one term,” said Joseph Farah.
“Fool Me Twice” is written by New York Times bestselling author, journalist and radio host Aaron Klein, together with New York Times bestselling author and researcher Brenda J. Elliott.

Chevy Volt 60-Day Return Makes Tax Credit Abuse Likely
General Motors has announced a 60 day money back guarantee policy for all new Chevy models, including the Chevy Volt. The move sets up a scenario where purchasers can buy a Volt, claim the $7,500 federal tax credit (and most likely state credits) and return the vehicle for a refund within 60 days. Did GM really not consider this glitch, or is this just another way for Government Motors to prop up politically important Volt sales leading up to November elections?
IRS tax form 8936, for plug-in motor vehicle credit, does not have any minimum time requirement for buyers to own their qualified vehicles. The vehicle only has to be new and purchased during the tax year being claimed. Buyers of Volts will have documentation and VIN numbers for qualifying vehicles. The 60 day return policy lays the groundwork for a very easy way to scam the IRS out of $7,500. Buyers will most likely have to eat registration fees and sales tax paid that will be deducted from refund. So, in an effort to save taxpayers millions of dollars on the potential scam and save GM and its shareholders from losing more millions of dollars on the Volt, I suggest the Volt be exempted from the return program.
Of course, there is the possibility that Government Motors is aware of the situation. Volt sales should pick up, millions of dollars in tax credits will be claimed and GM can tout improved sales. GM will then have returned Volts to sell that will no longer qualify for the tax credits; the vehicles will be sold as used for thousands of dollars less. GM will have to reimburse dealerships for some portion of the losses. And unless the IRS has a database of VIN numbers for qualified vehicles, buyers of used Volts with low mileage may be tempted to claim the tax credit again, upping the federal subsidy to $15,000 per vehicle. Hopefully the IRS has safeguards to prevent double claiming of EV credits. In the past, the IRS did not seem too concerned as there was not even a field on prior year forms for VIN numbers, something that changed after my criticism of GM dealerships taking tax credits.
So, for the sake of taxpayers, let's hope that GM tries to rely on GE to purchase a bunch of Volts to prop up sales instead of costing taxpayers lost revenue on an easy scam by purchasers of Volts. I'll be in contact with GM to share my suggestion and update article as appropriate. The IRS should also consider a minimum term of ownership for buyers of plug-in vehicles to qualify for tax credits. Better yet, repeal the costly EV tax credits that do little to help with foreign oil dependence and only further enrich already wealthy electric car buyers.
Mark Modica is an NLPC Associate Fellow.
Update: A local Chevy dealer informed me that sales tax is refundable. GM sales spokesman, Jim Cain, says returned Volts will be resold by dealerships as used and it is up to buyers as to whether or not they claim tax credits.

Voter fraud is the big issue that may decide the outcome of this election
In Seattle, Wash., last month, Brenda Charlston received a voter registration form in the mail from the Voter Participation Center with all the blanks filled in for “Rosie Charlston,” her black Labrador who died in 1998.
In June, in Buford County, Va., Tim Morris received a filled-out voter registration form for “Mozart Morris” addressed to “Mo,” his dog that passed away two years before. Again, the form came in the mail from the Voter Participation Center.
In Bernalillo County, N.M., an anonymous Republican registered his dog as a voter at a voter registration booth at the University of New Mexico to show how easy it would be to defraud the system. Election officials claim they followed the law and referred the case to state prosecutors for criminal investigation of the dog owner!
Election officials throughout the country report a surge of voter registrations from animals, dead people and noncitizens.
Republicans believe Obama is depending on these registrations to win the election and want laws requiring voter ID at the polls. Democrats charge that Republicans are trying to suppress the vote to increase the odds of a Romney win.
This Democrat charge formed the basis of a lawsuit by Obama’s Department of Justice to block a Texas law that requires voter photo ID to vote. Texas is one of 26 states with such laws.
The DOJ claimed the requirement would bar eligible voters from voting and that the cost of getting the proper ID amounted to a “poll tax.” The Texas law provides for a free state ID to anyone lacking a driver’s license or other photo ID.
A study by a DOJ expert produced a long list of Texans who lacked government-issued photo ID and, it was alleged, were thereby disenfranchised. The list and the study were a fraud.
The list turned out to contain the names of 50,000 dead people, 330,377 seniors who can vote by mail without ID, 261,887 voters who included a driver’s license number on their voter registration form, 800,000 Texans who were, in fact, registered to vote and who did have a government issued photo ID.
The list also contained the names of Texans with U.S. military ID (acceptable for photo ID to vote), former Texas residents who had moved to other states, disabled voters who were exempt from the Texas photo ID law and noncitizens.
Strangely, the list of those who “lacked government issued ID” included former President George W. Bush, two state legislators and the wife of another, former U.S. Sen. Phil Gramm, current U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and even the Texas director of elections, Keith Ingram – who was listed not once but twice!
However, even the Texas attorney general has yet to find the names of any dogs, living or dead, on the list.
Obama’s DOJ also went after Florida for passing a similar law. It seems that Obama voters who were dead, felons or noncitizens would not get to vote.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott ordered county election officials to examine the integrity of the voting rolls. In the first review, the names of 83,000 dead people were discovered still registered to vote.
The dead deserve representation given the estate-tax debate, but the law does not yet allow them to vote.
DOJ also objected to Florida’s insistence that felons be barred from voting.
Noncitizens were also found on the voter rolls, and Gov. Scott fought to get access to the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements, or SAVE, database. SAVE will allow Florida to purge the voter roll of noncitizens.
In a strange, parallel world, the Obama Agriculture Department requires ID on every cow, and now on every chicken, on every American farm.
Obama wants to trace the movement of farm animals but not illegal aliens; he wants to ID every farm animal to protect the public health but does not want to ID voters to protect the integrity of elections.
With the memory still fresh that the 2000 presidential election was decided by a handful of voters in Florida, the determination of who gets to vote in 2012 could decide who will be the next president.
Are race riots not news?
Thomas Sowell spotlights WND writer unafraid to cover black-on-white mobs
When I first saw a book with the title, “White Girl Bleed A Lot” by Colin Flaherty, I instantly knew what it was about, even though I had not seen the book reviewed anywhere, and knew nothing about the author.
That is because I had encountered that phrase before, while doing research for the four new chapters on intellectuals and race that I added to the revised edition of my own book, “Intellectuals and Society,” published this year.
Where the violence is too widespread and too widely known locally to be ignored, both the local media and public officials often describe what happened as unspecified “young people” attacking unspecified victims for unspecified reasons. But videos of the attacks often reveal both the racial nature of these attacks and the racial hostility expressed by the attackers.
Are race riots not news?
Ignoring racial violence only guarantees that it will get worse. The Chicago Tribune has publicly rationalized its filtering out of any racial identification of attackers and their victims, even though the media do not hesitate to mention race when decrying statistical disparities in arrest or imprisonment rates.
Such mob attacks have become so frequent in Chicago that officials promoting conventions there have recently complained to the mayor that the city is going to lose business if such widespread violence is not brought under control.
But neither these officials nor the mayor nor most of the media use that four-letter word, “race.” It would not be politically correct or politically convenient in an election year.
Reading Colin Flaherty’s book made painfully clear to me that the magnitude of this problem is even greater than I had discovered from my own research. He documents both the race riots and the media and political evasions in dozens of cities across America.
Flaherty’s previous writings have won him praise and awards, but this book has been met largely with silence or abuse. However much ignoring the ugly realities his book reveal may serve the interests of the media or politicians, a cover-up is a huge disservice to everyone else – whether black, white or whatever.
Even the young hoodlums who launch these mass attacks on strangers would be better off to be stopped now, rather than continue on a path of escalating violence that can lead to a lifetime behind bars or to the execution chamber.
The dangers to the nation as a whole are an even bigger problem. The truth has a way of eventually coming out, in spite of media silence and politicians’ spin. If the truth becomes widely known, and a white backlash follows, turning one-way race riots into two-way race riots, then a cycle of revenge and counter-revenge can spiral out of control, as has already happened in too many other countries around the world.
Most blacks and most whites in the United States today get along with each other. But what is chilling is how often in history racial or ethnic groups that co-existed peacefully for generations – often as neighbors – have suddenly turned on each other with lethal violence.
In the middle of the 20th century, Sri Lanka had a level of mutual respect and even friendship between its majority and minority communities that was rightly held up to the world as a model. Yet this situation degenerated over the years into polarization and violence that escalated into a civil war that lasted for decades, with unspeakable atrocities on both sides.
All it took were clever demagogues and gullible followers. We already have both. What it will take to nip in the bud the small but widely spreading race riots will be some serious leadership in many quarters and that rarest of all things in politics, honesty.
Race hustlers and mob inciters like Al Sharpton represent such polarizing forces in America today. Yet Sharpton has become a White House adviser, and Attorney General Eric Holder has been photographed literally embracing him.
During a radio interview today, M.D. Alam, a Democrat activist running for Missouri secretary of state, defended his reported claim that 9/11 was a Jewish holiday and his questioning of why no Jews were killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
In the interview, Alam also defended “Loose Change,” a series of online videos arguing the 9/11 attacks were planned and conducted by elements within the U.S. government.
Alam is national chairman of the Democratic Party Asian American Caucus and is founder of Missouri’s Democratic Party Asian American Caucus. He was a manager in Missouri for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
Alam was speaking today on “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio” on New York’s WABC Radio.
Alam has been the focus of news media attention after it was reported by the Washington Free Beacon that he posted in 2009 in an Internet forum titled, “Was 9/11 a conspiracy?”
In that forum, Alam asked, “Why [was] 9/11 was a official holidy [sic] for all jewish [sic] people worked in the the [sic] WTC?”
Alam went on to tout the “Loose Change” film, asking readers, “Tell me how many of the Jewish people died on the 9/11 tragedy?”
Earlier this week, Alam apologized for his remarks in a subsequent interview with the VIN News Jewish blog.
On Klein’s radio program today, however, Alam repeatedly defended his line of questioning about Jews and 9/11.
“Do you understand that asking questions is nothing wrong?” Alam stated.
He continued: “I can ask you something. It doesn’t mean that I am accusing you. Our job is to ask questions to both sides. Ask questions to the victims, and ask questions to the other guy. And the guy has to answer yes or no. And do you understand that how our country, people are not responsive. They are not involved. I posted something in January, February 2009 and not a single people (sic) had a response to that question.”
Asked by Klein whether he believed al-Qaida was behind the attacks, Alam replied, “Hey, I have nothing to answer.”
Alam added, “Because I am a committed and a balanced citizen. I totally respect to my government whatever decision came. Whatever our country came up with, I’m with them. I have nothing to say about who did it and who did it.”
Later in the interview, Alam denied that he believes the U.S. government was responsible for 9-11. Still, he urged listeners to watch the “Loose Change” conspiracy video.
“All I am saying, if you guys look at this video, and it took like 40 months to answer this now?” he asked.

Obama’s Hypocrisy: Took Money From Bain
Barack Obama and his campaign have been making Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital one of their premiere mantras that have over and over backfired in their faces. They decided to attack the fact that Bain outsourced jobs during the restructuring of the companies they acquired. So what does Obama have to do with it? During the time he points to, 1999-2002, the executives of Bain donated to Obama for his campaign. No doubt at that time Barack Obama was not at all upset about jobs being outsourced as he got some big, fat checks from the executives.
Ben Shapiro points out,
The same SEC form from February 2001 that lists Mitt Romney as “sole shareholder, sole director, Chief Executive Officer and President of Bain Capital … the controlling person of Bain Capital” also lists over a dozen other managing directors of Bain Capital, Inc. — all of whom were undoubtedly more active than Romney was during this period. And President Obama took money from many of them.
Take Joshua Bekenstein. Bekenstein has been a managing director of Bain Capital since 1986. In 2008, he signed Barack Obama a $4,600 check. In 2004, he gave a $50,000 donation to the Democratic National Committee. That’s outsourcing money, plain and simple. And Obama was happy to take it.
Or how about Stephen Pagliuca? Last year, he cut a $35,800 check to Barack Obama’s Victory Fund. Then he cut another $30,800 check to the DNC. And another $30,800 check to the DCCC. Jonathan Lavine and Mark Nunnelly have both maxed out to Obama already, as well as to the DNC. Lavin was a bundler for Obama, and raised over $100,000 for him. Michael Krupka gave Obama $4,600 in 2008.
Now there is nothing wrong with outsourcing jobs. There is nothing wrong with taking campaign contributions from businesses. The problem comes when one wants to bash his opponent over being in a company that did something you claim is bad and then took money from the very same people. In this case Barack Obama was fine with outsourcing while getting a check, but not fine when it becomes a political advantage.
