LOL Personally, l have no problem with people winning jackpots Stack, what l cannot understand is the relentless pursuit of lottery officials feeding the press information, and ultimately leading them to where the winner or winners live. This individual probably passed on the photo-shoot, and with good reason, wanting as little as possible to be known about themselves. " Where is your secret spot?' l like Laarni's answer though.

A few years back we had a jackpot winner from Southern California as well, those folk took their time to collect and hightailed it to parts unknown. They loaded up their sleighs and bide Broadway " Bye Bye."

Unlike some who can't wait to go before the cameras, tell the world who they are, what their plans are. Come on over, meet the spouse, and oh yes-the children. l swear them Robinson's showed up on GMA with their dog!

For good humor.

Ha ha, because in Illinois there is NO choice to opt out or do partial media.  It states so on the back of each lottery ticket.

Go to FAQ under Illinois lottery.   The very last paragraph addresses this issue.  In that the very last sentence sums it up.   Do I believe they might just skip over the photo-op... absolutely not.   They use the wording may be required.  Guess that's to cover all bases versus saying  are required to hold up oversized ceremonial check....

A valid question would be, will Illinois allow a winner to hold up the oversized ceremonial check dressed up as the good doctor. In this case...Dr. Zaius.

Had totally forget about this and that was a good plan she had.

Pay down debt?   Heck, pay the bills off.    Sounds like having a restaurant is perhaps a passion of theirs.   Certainly she's smart enough to get an LLC and an LLP for the restaurant.  Our Fresno LP friend is good @ this and can shed more light on what she probably has already done.   Come on music*!

The winner isn't going to open a restaurant, the store that sold the winning ticket is.

The family that owns the store where the winning ticket was sold gets a $1 million bonus. That's the money they want to open a restaurant with.

"Adrian Goro's family has sold lottery tickets at the deli mart for almost 30 years but none of their customers have ever won.

For selling the winning ticket, they get a $1 million prize.

"My mom runs upstairs screaming and she's like, 'We won the lotto!' I thought she meant my dad bought a ticket and we won like half-a-billion dollars. I was going out of my mind," Goro said.

Though a little short of a half a billion dollars, Goro said he and his family still have plenty to be happy about.

The family plans to use the prize money to invest in their store and open a restaurant next door."

Bleudog101,  Thank You for the compliment. You know about the same amount of info. on LLCs and LLPs.

The winners can now pay for these Asset Protection ideas.

Am thinking that since PB was won, MM should take off even faster.

BTW KY lottery is having Miss Vanna White @ the Yum! Center tomorrow night for a Wheel of Fortune party.   We're going; hope to meet her!

Call up Stack Jeff, have him go along as well, nothing like the ol “ Meet & Greet.” I am sure Stack wouldn’t mind leaving he’s Mountain retreat & seeing Vanna in the flesh.Cool

Don't forget to get Vanna & Pat’s autograph. Approve

Pat won't be there.   Had read elsewhere that if you go on WOF no selfies, no autographs...bummer.

Stack has to have two WOF scratch tickets and register with KY lottery...probably too late for that.   Maybe he'll be there.
