Clerk tried to steal $14 million lottery ticket
After getting more information from another source I found out he brought his ticket from the trusted retailer and went to him and told him the story and that retailer called the police and the lottery commission. The lottery records showed the ticket was bought at the trusted retailer business and scanned at the deli with crooked clerk so it was evident that the clerk had taken the ticket and was planning to cash it in after things settled down. I guess stealing that $14M just looked too easy t

Clerk tried to steal $14 million lottery ticket
I knew something wasn't right so the next day, I went to another retailer I trusted and together, we called the Lottery to file a complaint. Apparently, a retailer he trusted wasn't his first choice where to cashed his ticket. Indiana man says store cost him $11.5M lottery jackpot
I understand why Charles Andrews is upset, he knows what #s he would have played, he wrote them down on the playslip, and all 6 would have matched (HIS personal lightening would probably have struck)! That HURTS greatly, and he is probably upset with himself that he waited too long for a person with a disability to get to a backup lottery ticket retailer in case of problems with the first! I've had the same thing happen to me. Unfortunately, the store that he went to support, via purchasing an I

Lottery winner loses ticket, awarded unspent portion from couple who found it
A few years ago when I match 5 of 6 in the local lottery and cashed my ticket I had to fill out a form to collect my winnings with the name of the retailer where I bought my ticket. Even though the bank would have paid me the winnings regardless of the retailer name I put on the form, an investigation later would have revealed fraud if what I signed wasn't true. Finding something that belongs to someone else doesn't make it yours. Signing a form stating you paid for something at a particular ret

Does $9 goof point to larger problems with Ontario Lottery?
I wish to make two points. First in reference to the question why does the retailer not simply scan the ticket to determine it is a winner. The procedure for redeeming a scratch ticket in Ontario is a two step process. First the retailer scans the tickets then is prompted by the terminal to enter the 4 digit code that appears under the latex. The 4 digit code must correspond to the scanned code (long code). For this code to be entered in error and also match the scanned code and come up a win
