Store owner's lottery bonus put on hold
There is nothing surprising about him having a balance due the lottery; that is how almost all lotteries sell their tickets. For scratch tickets, each book has a face value (# of tickets x value of each ticket). The retailers are usually charged a percentage of the face value equal to the lottery's take on the ticket. For example, if the retailer commission on scratch tickets is 6%, then the lottery charges the retailer 94% of the face value of the book. This amount is usually delay billed f

Take5 NY
Yeah, I did force their hand, but after I left the gas station I realized what I had done was risky. My thinking is that after a ticket has been scanned, it must be paid out. That's because a winning ticket can only be paid one time. After it's been paid, a ticket could be scanned a second time, but the computer that the lottery terminal is attached to is not going allow it to be paid out a second time. So if the gas station truly didn't have the necessary cash on hand to cover the pay out, t

Yonkers deli owner sells winning NY Lotto ticket
i think that powerball and mega millions need to have set rules for how lotteries should award retailer bonuses. that way, we won't have to worry about one retailer getting jealous that another retailer got more than them when the other retailer sold a ticket worth the same amount as them. it's bad enough that the new york lottery targets the poor (as much as we don't want to admit it, it happens. you ever wonder why the poorer neighborhoods have a lot of lottery machines? it's no coincidence.),

Does the retailer still get paid?
Does the retailer who sold a winning lottery ticket still get paid if the ticket holder doesn't step forward to claim his/her prize? Like in the case of the $12 million jackpot(I think it was) in MA that was never claimed. Did that retailer still get his bonus?

refused to pay me
What you know or may not know is the lottery will give practically anybody a machine so they can sell tickets for them. Then the retailer buys scratch off tickets to sell for them. When the retailers pays on a scratch off ticket the retailer has to go through all kinds of crap to get their funds from the lottery. the lottery wants to credit the retailer for any winning tickets that the retailer pays out for. So in fact the retailer is paying out of his register for any winning tickets since many

Oo, this is interesting. What do you think?
excerpt from - MN Lucky for Life Game Procedures PDF We found f g to be very interesting. We also found similar rules on nearly all of MN's lottery games. Kind of puts the kibosh on those hoping to cover it all. 18. Retailer s Conduct, Bulk Purchase Restrictions a. Maryland Lottery Director says online sales coming
That only makes sense from a retailer POV, but not from the lottery or lottery player POV. One can buy lottery tickets at Lottery HQ and if they win big, no retailer gets a cut. So online is same...it cuts out the middleman. Besides, I would not want to set up and share my SSN and bank account details on anybody elses computer. So that is a bad idea haymaker. I like the setup just the way it is...no need to complicate the matter in the interest of some retailer getting a cut. So since you pr

One ticket wins $15M Lotto Texas jackpot
Without the bonus program, it's probably not worth being a retailer A retailer who sells lottery tickets because they're hoping for a bonus is nearly as delusional as a player who plans to fund their retirement with their winnings. If that $4.2 million budgeted for retailers was split among all retailers it would average about $5 per week for each retailer. Judging from the hiring signs I see in local convenience stores that would get them extra help for 20 to 30 minutes per week, so they'd
