Scamming store owner loses lottery license
Good to read that the winner was able to collect her winnings before it was cashed by the dishonest retailer. Just cringe when folks hand their tickets to the retailer to have them check their tickets. See this often, even though N.J. has scanners for players to check their own tickets. Of course this situation was unique because the woman was disabled. Bad karma for this unscrupulous retailer.

CA Lottery - California Love - CA Lottery Scratchers
The ticket packs go through several different status as they make their way from warehouse to store: Typical scratch info: Issued - A pack of instant tickets is in issued status if it has been assigned to a retailer but has not been confirmed through the retailer terminal. You may not sell or validate tickets from a pack in issued status. Confirmed - A pack of instant tickets is in confirmed status if the retailer has confirmed receipt of the tickets through the retailer terminal. You m

Georgia Mega Millions jackpot winner comes forward
Congrats to Ira! Too bad the Georgia retailer will get no bonus for selling that ticket. That stinks. In California, the San Jose retailer is probably getting a $1,000,000 bonus. I think there's a 1% cap the jackpot retailer bonus.

Florida: 5/1 - 5/31/2013
You are not going to believe what just happened to me. I went to the local lottery retailer to play $20 straight on 1111 for tonights draw and I was rejected because the number is CUT OFF by the Florida lottery! Then I told the retailer to just give me a $1 straight to try that but again it came back that the number was cut off. I was so pissed making me think that the Play 4 and Cash 3 are FIXED. How is it that you can play at the retailer everyday and all of a sudden a certain number is cut of

Is this a problem...??
Have you all experienced this? A licensed lottery retailer refusing to cash in a ticket that was the max $600 or less? As a licensed retailer are they allowed to do this. I live in N.C. and there was a guy off of interstate 40 exit 319 dairy queen for those of you who know the area...He wouldn't cash out any ticket unless you paid him 10% of your win...now people just stopped going there and he stopped but again as a licensed retailer I thought that would b in violation of their contract with th

Virginia woman wins $1 million lottery twice in the same day
No, lot123, winner NEVER pays lottery retailer more than cut/share already paid at time of each 'numbers row purchase.' Instead, winner pays huge additional monies (2-4 weeks after claim form received) to their county, state, and/or federal governments before receiving wire transfer from the 'ticket purchased state's Lottery Headquarters!' FYI, the Lottery Headquarters of the state who's lottery retailer sold a winning ticket, pays the owner/proprietor a percentage; yet pays usually up to a m

What are the wrong things a Lottery Retailer does?
What are the worst things a lottery retailer or clerk do(or you presume they do) when you are buying tickets. Change my number - I buy my tickets at a mom-and-pop's store - You know just in case you win someone who could used the money gets it instead of a corporation. When I give the clerk my ticket and the machine couldn't read a number, he chooses quick pick without asking me.

Having a lottery machine: Now that's the ticket
Rip I don't think so the numeric code they enter to see if it's a winner or what amount to pay out is under the latex at least that's the way the tickets in Maryland are. There is also a bar code they scan it's on the back of the scratch off. When they scan any scratch off ticket that information is sent directly to a central PC at lottery HQ. I think they would get suspicious if a retailer continuously scanned tickets from a pack of tickets. Then again I could be wrong a retailer might be scann
