Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Where are they putting the additional unexpected $2M in sales? They're putting it in the same places as every other $5 in sales. They skim half off the top and the rest goes into the prize pools. The ads are only for estimated jackpots, and higher sales increase it. They're not going to change the advertised amount unless sales are substantially higher than expected, and if you got those numbers from the site that shall not be named (which you must have, because the Texas worksheet doesn't

Maryland's Multi Match odds are variable
This is an interesting game. I've started some calculations but it will be awhile before I can finish it. This is what I have so far: Probability of getting zero duplicates (all 18 numbers are distinct) = 4.6%. If this happens, the maximum you can win in the second tier is 6 of 18 for $7. Probability of getting one pair = 19.1%. The maximum win in the second tier is 7 of 18 for $20. Probability of getting two pairs = 30.1%. The maximum win in the second tier is 8 of 18 for $100.

It's a sad goodbye 😔
I like your perspective on it all. Maybe the changes dynamics may end up making it even more interesting. Sometimes you never know the outcome of an action until you take it. I continue to play because like you said the odds remain the same.

Powerball lottery tickets go on sale in the UK on July 21
It's too bad the execs at pb couldn't make the odds a little better for 5x and 10x. Would it really hurt there bottom line? Also maybe increase the cutoff to 300 mil rather than 150 mil? Just saying. Have a shaggy day! ShagE3

Mega Millions and Powerball Race
Fun race to watch. If I'm betting on which one gets caught first, I'd actually lean Powerball purely on cadence - three draws a week vs two means more chances to roll AND more chances to die. Mega's been the slow burner since the format change (1 in 290.5M vs PB's 1 in 292.2M, so basically identical odds per line now), but fewer draws per week means MM jackpots age slower. The thing I always watch in these races is ticket-sales elasticity - once either one crosses ~$800M the casual money flo

Pennsylvania Supreme Court outlaws skill games
As I said before... If they can't get their cut they ban it. When are we going to stand up against this tyranny? I have written my governor regarding banning SC casino's and the lack of other gaming options except the 33% RTP Tennessee Lottery. Along with no clarity regarding payouts and consolidated odds with scratch off tickets citing Texas Lottery as an example. Holding my breath for a meaningful response. Wish me luck.
