How much a month do you spend on the game?
I consider playing lotteries as entertainment. When you spend money on entertainment, you don't expect to get it back, same as when you spend it on alcohol, cigarettes or cable TV. At least with lotteries there's a snowball chance you might get lucky and win something in return.

What Should I do--Quit Playing?
I've been playing and losing even longer than you but I enjoy playing and dreaming of beating the odds, it's entertainment. If you have doubts about playing the lottery then you would probably be better off to quit and start spending your entertainment dollars on something you enjoy more.

Which is your game of choice?
I prefer MegaMillions because it's local and only has two drawings per week. For entertainment I like tracking past drawing results and detecting trends that might indicate numbers in future drawings and with a couple of days between drawings I have time to do that. Buying QPs and hoping to get lucky isn't as entertaining. Sometimes when their jackpots are high, I'll try Rolling Cash5 or Classic Lotto but usually playing MM is plenty of entertainment for me.

New Hampshire Lottery celebrates 45th anniversary
Gambling is a form of entertainment. Some people will pay to watch a made up story aka movie. Some people will pay to watch some people chasing around a leather ball aka football. Some people will pay to eat at the best restaurants aka fine dining. Some people will pay to have sex with somebody. All those are forms of entertainment and different people appreciate them differently. I say to each their own :)

What determines winning ticket (scratching is for entertainment only)
States usually regard a winning scratch ticket as a ticket in which the bar codes and validation codes match lottery records. The scratch ticket's front latex covering is provided for "entertainment purposes only." Here is Oregon's lottery rules regarding this under Rule 177-050-0024 Method of Determining Winners: "...If the ticket is a winner, Lottery's computer system will identify it as such based on the official bar code or bar code number. Removing the latex covering on the front of

A new(?) question
The money I spend on lottery tickets is all I ever expect to give up for a chance of winning a lottery prize. Since playing the lotteries is entertainment to me I don't consider it any more of a sacrifice that spending money for a movie, for a carton of cigarettes or a six pack of beer. If things was that bad I wouldn't be wasting money on lottery tickets or any other entertainment.

Oregon Powerball winners deny making demands for interviews
Chewie-The Clinton's, Oprah, Tom Cruise - these people are not. They are veterans and part of the entertainment world. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, people who are average working class people that want to play that entertainment game, they have to deal with the upside and the downside of playing. $114,000,000 I can create my own world and the rules that govern it.

Powerball lottery jackpot soars to $290 million
I agree with those who say it is a game, because the lottery is nothing more than entertainment. I also agree that anyone playing this game needing to win should not be playing the game at all. The lottery is entertainment, not an income-producing investment.

Anyone seen this - cheat at lotto??
Hummm....I am going to have to just pretty package my system and offer it up for sale with the promise that you will get absolutely nothing in return except general entertainment and of course I will put a warrenty with it that I also denounce with the disclaimer that I haven't promised you anything other then personal entertainment and just because your not having fun doesn't mean I am not having fun, therefore I have fullfilled any so-called obligation I might have alluded too, but denounced w
