$ick of this USA country & will move when I HIT BIG JACKPOT
That's funny because Hawaii is already the japanese' Hawaii. And Okinawa As for road trip, I think that's a great idea, and as for moving, I think Hawaii, Alaska and the US Virgin Islands are already far enough from the spectacle.

Mega millions for Hawaii
Afaik, Hawaii and Utah are the only states with NO legalized gambling (casino, lottery, racing, video poker, etc,) but Hawaii does have casino cruises. No idea what kind of casino cruises they are, though. The kind we have here in MA are basically, drive to Lynn, get on a dingy ferry boat, go 3 miles out, wait for them to turn on the machines, then piss your money away. And you can't leave when you're on a bad streak, or stay longer when you're hot, so it's really pretty miserable. But I suspect

200 Winning Pick 3 Tickets
I wish I still had the URL to the IRS tax site where it specifically says ANY winnings or earned income is taxable. -onlymoney Easy just google - income from whatever source derived. FYI If you live in Hawaii and pay Hawaii income tax you cant deduct any gambling losses on your Hawaii income tax! So if you buy $5,000 in tickets and win $50 you have to declare that $50 on your Hawaii income taxes and you cant deduct the $4950! It also applies to every other form of gambling Slo

Congratulations, you've just won the lottery
Music, Hawaii has lightened up on their quarantine requirements. However, that is when you move to Hawaii and not for vacation. That you still cant do unless maybe go for 6 months or so but i am not of the opinion it would be worth it and all kind of hoops you have to jump thru on paperwork prior to your trip.

Yeah, lots of Japanese tourists on Hawaii, too. But living in Hawaii is pretty expensive. Alaska, too, for that matter (and too cold for me). In Hawaii, tourism is one of its major industries. On Guam, it is the number one industry ... with hotel taxes paying a lot of the taxes residents used to pay. Anyhoo, I mentioned the Guam alternative because I used to live there ... and enjoyed it even back then. Typhoons are no more of an issue than hurricanes would be in South Carolina or Florida. No

Six States Losing Millions In Revenue
I don't know but the last time I checked if you are a resident of Hawaii and you do gamble anywhere you are not allowed to deduct gambling losses on your Hawaii taxes but you have to declare all wins. A simplified example - Just as an example if you are from Hawaii and you buy a $500 pack of scratchers in some other state and you get back $135 you have to declare that $135 as income and cant deduct the $365 losses. So you lose $365 but have to declare $135 in income. I am

7 States I Would Not Live In
Yes, North Dakota. The cost of living is lower. If I lived in Hawaii, there's no way I could swim to California to buy tickets. Also, If I lived in North Dakota, I could win the lottery and THEN move to Hawaii! LOL.

states without lotteries
Having lived there also I found Hawaii to be the most racist state, far more than the south. Also politics there is close to Lousiana so you'll be waiting a long time to see a lottery there. Too many seem to hate whitey and hate the US. If lotteries seem like it's a good tax stream in the 48 then Hawaii would appose it just on principle.
