betting online and your financial outlook
Another point to consider is that if this thing materializes what is going to happen to all of that player money in overseas accounts? My advice to an online gambler is to watch how this legislation progresses very carefully and liquidate your account when it looks imminent ... and beat your fellow players to the punch.

What is your opinion on new WA state law
Exactly. Do they really think that the state law enforcement officials have time to chase down people playing lotto online? Hardly. They are too busy trying to catch real criminals and violent offenders. They don't really have time or resources to assign many of their law enforcement people to stop their real work and work on something like this.....it's all political feel good legislation.

Is it legal...
Lotteries are illegal by Federal law. States to have a lottery have to amend their own constitutions or pass legislation to enable them to have a STATE lottery. Any private lottery is illegal.

Lottery Taxation
Arnold Schwarzenegger said it as plain and as clear as one could say it on 60 minutes. Quote: (for every dollar we take in the legislation spends $1.10) Un-quote. Now that's progress for you, taxation with representation.

Florida In The 60's (As In 60%)
Rejecting Powerball is one thing, but a 60% payout? Can a lottery continue to make money on that kind of payout?I wonder if Jeb Bush is pushing an anti-gambling agenda. If he can't get the state to outright shutdown the lottery, chipping away at it with legislation that will make it harder to operate is another way to get rid of it.Makes you go hmmmm. PrisonerSix

California & Mega Millions
There won't even be a stoppage of ticket sales. Either the injunction will be denied or new legislation will be passed to allow the game to continue before it even reaches the courtroom. If either of the polictical parties were really against MM, they would have filed a lawsuit to stop the game long before it ever started.

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
I don't imagine that the wolf cares that the fox is not giving the chickens a 'fair chance', as long as the fox shares.wolf (feds) --> <-- fox (states)The quickest 'legislation' would be for enough folks in computer-draw states to 'petition' their federal reserve notes to remain in their pockets until the matter is resolved to their taste.

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Yes, I agree with lottomike on this - the only way to combat this madness is through federal legislation. And for those who will instantly jump to the conclusion that the federal government cannot interfere with the states on this one, you are wrong. There are MANY federal laws already controlling many aspects of lottery games.

Just got done watching the news. Illinois is trying to pass legislation that would make internet lottery possible. Is that good or bad? I probaly would buy a 5 dollar ticket just to see what it would look like. I'm not sure what I feel about it...how about you all !!

Warning about Lottery Universe
As well as the Trading Standards Office, I also sent an email to the Avon and Somerset police (Fraud division). Unfortunately, their hands are tied as there is no legislation covering this type of activity but they have said that they will be pushing the Trading Standards Office to do something about it.I also have one more avenue that I am exploring but I'll tell you about that later when I see what the results are.
