It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
The paranoid fear of lottery fraud doesn't trump a winner's right to privacy and personal safety. There are documented cases around the country of winners being robbed and even murdered by strangers and acquaintances - who got the winner's personal info from TV, newspapers, websites etcetera. Not to mention that in the internet age, criminals can access a substantial amount of sensitive information about a person by simply googling their name and county of residence. This can and frequently d

Internet Gambling Law will be voted on and passed in December
I think they delayed it mainly to come up with some kind of laws for it and to make rules for it. The article said that Americans account for 1/2 of 16 billion spent on online gambling. That is a lot. Right now, folks are still gambling online and it would take someone winning probably 1 million or more to get the attention of the Feds. I don't think they will come after some quarter player. The fat cats will get a chance to buy all of the stock in these companies that oversee internet gambl

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Congress cannot and will not consider legislation to regulate State Lottery's. Give it up folks. I heard someone complain about randomizers being used in raffle drawings. Imagine a machine large enough to hold 625,000 ping pong balls in PA to draw the number.

Legal or not?
There is case history in Florida showing that it is perfectly legal. I'm not sure why they would post that. Probably overreacting to the new legislation, just like a lot of companies have. It's not even a law yet, making it an odd move.

online gambling law
Great and informative post Tungsten Chef! If Netteller isn't subject to US laws, then how does having Netteller transfer funds into a US bank come into to play? Between Todd's and your expertise, it sounds like we're overreacting to this new legislation. Thanks!
