Only one scratch off in TN has NO 3-letter codes. Why is that?
The 2 Million Dollar Bonanza scratcher (a $20 ticket) does not contain the 3 letters within the playing numbers. This game came out a few months ago in February I think but I have noticed after scratching the entire area, there are no letters. Why do lotteries do this? This is the first scratch off in TN that I have seen that doesnt contain the letters. Is it because the ticket is printed by a different company? Even the scratchers released since this one all have the letters, and the 2

NY scratch-off letters
Would be nice if they made tickets WITHOUT the codes. Everytime I accidently scratch off a letter of a losing code I know I have lost on that scratcher, even though ive only scratched 20% of it. I still scratch off the rest just in case Its a bigger winner.

Are retailers allowed??
Good for you for reporting it. clerks are NOT allowed to play scratch offs while working. I work at a gas station and some guy who used to work before me used to scratch tickets just to reveal to see the winning letter/codes, the manager caught him on camera once and fired him.

N.C. lottery tickets sold in vending machines
I personally look at the scratch-off vending machines as a very good thing, because there is less of a chance that some less-than-scrupulous employee has gone through the rolls trying to micro-scratch the codes to pull out winners.

Clash over $1 million lottery ticket outlives buyer
It was Donovan's practice, says Doyle, to scratch the tickets at the store counter. Checking the ticket coding, he would then segregate the winners from the losers. He wouldn't know how much he won until later when he scratched off the rest of each ticket. Donovan threw out all the tickets he thought were losers including the million-dollar winner and left the store. The problem with relying on the codes is in MA they use the loser codes for the big winners (those over $600 w

Letter Validation Codes on Tickets ? Are they ALWAYS correct ?
I buy a lot of scratch offs in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Apparently, MD has no ryhme nor reason to letters that appear when you scratch off certain areas of the tickets. But in Pennsylvania I was told losing code letters by a gas station manager. He told me that Q , B , D , P , K , Z are ALWAYS losing tickets. I hope he is right because at this point I dont scratch further when I see those letters. I wonder if the letters are 100% foolproof though. He told me winning tickets have

Saw something amazing yesterday
I had been reading about math teachers who use baited hook scratch cards to predict the winners from the losers, and win millions. However it takes an inside man, a cashier to let you sift through them to only buy the probable winners, so I never did it. It also takes some investment time and money to crack the codes of the cards of your state in the first place. Well I was in line yesterday to get a lotto ticket or ten, and a man with a 4 inch stack of a $10 game of the same scratch card hands

Post your scratch ticket results
Too true for NY as well. I used to actually have fun scratching tickets and nowadays, like you said, its so fing predictable. If I see a few of my winning numbers are one off from my play numbers I already know its a loser. Plus the codes they use for certain games are right by the winning numbers so when you scratch them off, if you reveal certain letters you can be sure its a loser (Set for Life). And yes I realize jackpots and higher prizes will have losing codes so I always scratch them but
