If they didn't it would be possible that a series of winning ticket books could end up in one or two zip codes instead of spread out across the state. This is exactly correct. Just redact the bar code or take a picture before you scratch off the bar code and you are ok. This problem is not limited to lotto tickets. People have posted sporting or concert tickets online with exposed bar codes and been ripped off. Just be careful if you post online.

Same here! I always thought second chance promos were for scratch-offs. I don't save my tickets so I only found 3 I still had laying around. And right there on the bottom, it mentions the contest. I'm looking for those promo codes that are also mentioned.

I was scratching off the codes a few days ago from a huge stack of doublers to enter in the second chance drawing and one of the ones I fished out of the trash at publix didn't go through saying it's invalid. I check the ticket again and one of the numbers isn't scratched off. I scratch it and it's a match and it hit for 20 bucks. Pretty crazy to think that someone may have thrown out a ticket that an even bigger prize may have hit.

This was tl/dr earlier, but I see cheats were involved. It's getting to the point where I don't believe ANYONE wins any lottery game fair and square. They are even figuring out how to run cheat codes on scratch off tickets. I'm about ready to quit these rigged games.

This si very very true. We play the 30 dollar scratch off card. This card was printed before the scanner codes were put on the cards to be able to check yourselves with the scanners. Has anyone noticed a codes or references when one buys a QP? I've heard some folks say if you get a QP you can eliminate pkaying those numbers on your play slip which I know is bogus I'm just curious if anyone has come up with anything like you can do on a scratch offs by using the zip code when you purchase at your store

Bar codes, scanning codes, are also a print ,My friend had a ticket that revealed a $50 winner and the ticket scanner revealed less, the ticket was clearly a 50 winner. He got his reward. Some people just scratch the scanning code. You probably been leaving you're treasures behind. It won't be a bad idea to pick up tickets with only bar codes scratched.
