She was not allowed to have a scat scan an mre or a swallow test by her husband.
She was also denied other things another person in her conditon was allowed to have to help them regain memory and speech.

That husband will rot in the infernos of haides.

I'd like to hear VisionDude's opinion on this.  Where is he, anyway?

Molly if they kept her alive then her husband wouldn't get the $900,000.00 dollar life policy he had on her. He wouldn't have been able to collect. At least, that is the sum I heard at work today. But you know how tongues wag. Take it with a grain of salt. All I know is that they murdered her, plain and simple. Are the coma patients next? Is this the beginning of Logan's Run...

Her husband has no moral values at all, could you imagine someone bringing there commonlaw wife into the room where Terri was,His rights should have been taken away from him,I hope that Judge Greer, and Michael get there just rewards, her parents should have had the right to make her decisions after he forfeitted his moral rights by committing adultry, and in his case it was of the worse kind,There should be a recall vote on Judge Greer by the Fla voters if he was elected, for conflict of interest. It is my understanding that he got a contribution to his campaign from some of Michaels supporters.

I also hate that this happened.  I have had the experience of dealing with a child who was in a similar situation.  He had no "outward" show of brain function but when we fed him thru his feeding tube and rubbed his stomach and talked to him, he would smile and coo.  He was giving us the best reaction that he could to show us how he appreciated what we were doing for him.  He will never get better nor will he hold a job but he deserves to live the same as anyone else.  Terry Schivo was treated very bad by her husband.  He should have given her back to her parents.  They knew how challenging it would be to take care of her and they were up for it.  What disturbs me now is that she is a Catholic and he wants to cremate her remains.  Catholics as far as I know don't believe in cremation.  It really makes me think the man is trying to cover something up.

If you know your number is going to hit, have patience and then KILL IT!

You never know when you will get another hit.

That's not likely. An insurance policy of that amount would require a medical exam. Besides, he had two offers of $1 million and $10 million to turn custody over to her parents, and he refused. If he wanted money he would have taken the offers.

I also hate the thought that she was "starved to death", but we are thinking about how she felt based on what a person with normal brain function would feel.  She did have CAT scans and I have seen them on TV.  Those are what the 12 doctors based most of the findings on.  If you saw those CAT scans and MRIs, you would immediately know that her brain was far from normal.  I'm not a doctor, but I have seen a few CAT scans and MRIs of the brain and spine.  Terri's did not look anywhere normal.

Probably not. The feeding tube was surgically attached through her abdominal wall into her stomach. That wouldn't be done just on her husband's say so.

She didn't starve to death. Her organs probably shut down due to dehydration. And if her doctors were correct on the amount of brain tissue loss, she didn't feel a thing. The part of the brain that preceives pain was gone.

Yes, she starved to death, and yes, she was able to swallow at one point and the husband stopped it.
