No,  everyones  so anxious to win where Im at that no one cares if you re gambling. In fact, they ll say "Wheres the lottery line?"

You know how you ve been behind someone playing 100 bucks on one draw? well

the only annoyance seems to be from the clerks who dont want to work the machines .  lol

Surely the most important news of any day ...

    No! We get "Dirty Looks" for NOT Playing! LOL

    Green laughToo funny !!!

    ~~~
    I don't know if I'm getting "Dirty Looks" or not.
    It's hard to tell whether these people always have that look on their face
    or they're scowling at me.  LOL   Around here they'll just come out and tell
    you what they think.  I've had several people make comments when I was
    buying lottery tickets.  Come to think of it, I've had people make comments
    about the size of the soda I was buying! Green laughI felt like saying, "What do you care?!
    You're not the one paying for it!
      At the one Sheetz location I go to, you must wait in one of the two register lines, and when it's your turn, tell them lottery, then walk over to the lottery machine. I don't know how many times people behind me are rude or say "I just want to get gas" and the clerk will run back over and take their money. It's unfair and I know <snip> well that people have an attitude, but usually in a hurry. Aren't we all always in a hurry? I was on the phone one time with a friend and I was filling out play slips, and the clerk wouldn't run them with me on the phone. My friend was very upset over her Father passing, and I simply put her on mute while I told the clerk I wasn't hanging up. He told me that I wasn't allowed to take bets over the phone. I knocked over his BIC display and I left. I was stressed too Thumbs Up
        actually living in a small town, got dirty looks from the clerk in  the only  store to buy lotto tickets in that town.
        they even had signs up " please dont scratch  scratchy cards instore " as they had to clean up the mess made!
        i eventually stopped going and waited till weekly shop in big town 70miles away, to buy. rather than give them my  comission.
          For the most part, I don't tend to get negative comments or dirty looks for buying lottery tickets.
          However, I have noticed something interesting on the rare occasion that I feel like someone might be rolling their eyes at my lottery purchases...wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing?
          Most of the time, I pick up my lottery tickets on the way to/from work or on my lunch break.  Because of that, I'm typically dressed in business-type clothes as I work a white-collar, professional job.  No one ever blinks an eye when I stop in to buy tickets.
          All of the times that I have felt like I might be getting a "look" when buying lottery tickets have been when I've stopped after doing something casual.  If I pop in to buy a ticket after working out, doing housework, etc.
          Its a social experiment of sorts.  I'm not sure if people think I look like I can afford the tickets when I'm in my work clothes, and that I look like I'm spending money I don't have when I'm dressed down?  Its weird - I'm the same person, just dressed differently.  LOL
            HI, nsv314!!!    I used to get dirty looks right here at home from hubby....yes, yes, until I started winning regularly!!!LOL..Ha,ha,...
            then the dirty looks stoped and began again when I started talking to my digits and stopped abruptly , when "we"
            ( I) was winning even more!!!!
             but it's back again because of my deep and abiding love for my Lottery Post family and
            the dirty looks start, the minute I place my fingers on the key board smiling!!! LOL...LOL
            forget what "they" say about youWhat you say about you?...
            Now, does it count??
              This is an interesting question.  This area, outskirts of the DFW metro area, has a high concentration of religious people, and the Southern Baptists are the worst about proclaiming condemnation.  I buy lottery tickets, beer, and liquor, and don't much care if people approve.  I'm sure a lot of Baptists are unhappy about it, but there really isn't much moralistic condemnation of such things these days (at least that I, a native, can see).  I remember when our lottery started and stirred up a moral outrage, but that nonsense has been redirected toward the liberals and the homosexuals.  The lottery and alcohol condmnation has pretty well gone away.  These days even some old Baptist churchgoers go to bars.  I've never seen or heard any kind of disapproval when buying lottery tickets.
                Yes I've gotten dirty looks before.  You know that one lottery player that holds up the line because he wants to buy so many tickets?  Yeah that was me once.  I resort to online gambling now.  You are in the privacy of your own home and don't have to worry about kids, impatient people, or rude customers. Smile
                      Great observation made on dressed up or down when buying tickets.
                        Everyone gambles here (in a country where it's illegal for residents to do so), doctors, lawyers, indian chiefs! Today is Sunday and as soon as church is out, people flock to the number houses to play all the numbers they got from the church bulletins- and they come dressed in their church clothes!
                        The ones who don't go to the number houses more than likely play online. As for me, if I can win some money by gambling why not? No one else is going to give me some!
                            That was me once.  Pulled a straight/box the night before ($290) on the 3 digit, so I just went with $60 worth of QPs (120 tickets) the next day. People were furious.  I even got told off by one guy.
                                   Gambling?  I don't gamble - never have, never will.  I play numbers like Stockbrokers and Investors purchase stocks in the Stock Market; but my way I get a much, much higher return on my investments and the yield is certainly much higher than any bank's interest rate, especially these days where interest rates are so low and bank service fees so high, you actually end up paying the bank to keep your money rather than the bank paying you to use your money.
                                   No, I don't gamble, I'm a very shrewd Investor and when I win, if there are any "dirty looks" - it's pure jealousy because they're not winning.  I don't have time for stupid, envious people.
                              The "Winners Circle"  is incomplete without me!
