Nice early hit on 20x Crossword! Especially on a fast spot, which is usually rare.(we shall see if they are still rare here...)

This new $10 20X Crossword game has the best total return of any Scratchers game so far at 77% return. Sure, LFL game may appear to be also in that range, but those are inflated by the annuitized top prize, which when factored out really only has around 69% return.

Other good things about this game is that at the $100 prize level, you are getting 65% return, which is also better than any Scratchers game. And I like that they got rid of the $10,$15 prizes, only ticket and then $20 or higher. None of this 5@ $2 or 3@ $5 small win junk like other $10 games.

Too bad its a crossword though...but I'll probably just scan it or replay it to check for winners.

was thinking about trying that new $10 new crossword....until I saw this on the calottery site: "cash odds: 1 in 7.62"!!!!!!  For a $10 game, this seems pretty ridiculous.  The other $10 scratcher cash odds are much lower, but then again...the cash prizes are also lower (a lot of $10-$15 wins).  So maybe for this new crossword scratcher, CAlottery added better odds for tickets (1 in 6), higher cash prizes, and although it all evens out to worse cash odds....the prizes are much bigger?  Am I right?  If that is the case...the odds still are not good for a game priced so high, in my opinion.

Anyways, I've been playing a lot of the $2 games lately and have been coming out, well, not bad.

          Bought a couple of $2 cherry twists: 0, 6

          A couple of $2 Triple Plays: 0, 0

I find if I buy a couple of each and spend maybe 10-15 I usually get at least 10 back.  I have about a 70% or higher return on the $2 scratchers...hopefully one day get a big win.  Hey, somebodys gotta win those $1K and up prizes on the cheaper scratchers.

Burned a lot of dough at the casino recently so I am sticking to the $2 tickets for a bit...will keep you guys updated and good luck.

This is mainly because they combined the $10 and "Ticket" value prizes together on this 20X Crossword game. If they instead broke out the 4.2M ticket value prizes into 1.8M Ticket and 2.42M $10 prizes, similar to other games, then the "cash odds" would be 1 in 4.48 instead.

I don't really care too much about the cash odds versus overall odds, as any small value wins are just used for subsequent ticket buys in lieu of cash, and many stores treat them the same as cash anyway. It all balances out to them in the end.

Bottom line: this $10 20X Crossword game pays out more than any other Scratchers game, especially in the mid-tier prizes.

This beauty was NOT won by me, but posted by my friend on her facebook page.  Wanted to pass along to share with my fellow scratcher addicts, this is a 1 in 1,714 prize ($200).  Interesting to note the ticket and roll #, roll # is below 300,000 and the ticket # is a very low number as well.

Also wanted to share that a top prize has already been claimed in the new "500K Riches" game.  16 still available.  I picked up a couple ones yesterday (#76-78) and struck out.  I'm not a big fan of this game, it is too much like Cash Stash and 10x the Money.

For the upcoming week, I'll be sticking with F55, RR7, 20x Crossword, and of course my avatar, 1M Fortune :D

Like you I have been chasing the Forture as about 14 top prizes are still remaining... I haven't had much luck on that since past 2 weeks though...so I was tempted with the new 20x crossword and won a $75 prize 2 days back....

also I won a $100 in the $2 LFL a few months back and that was a 1 in 4500 odds prize...thats the highest odds I have ever won.

Bought just one of the new $10 dollar 20x Crossword and found a $40 dollar winner! Dance  Much better than nothing! Pretty happy since my luck has been horrible on scratch tickets lately.

I think I would rather buy $5 500K riches. Lower ticket price and the odds of winning top prize are the same with the $10 ticket.

Alright guys, i'm back with some more scratchers.  Thought i'd stick to lower denomination tickets for a while but I was enticed when I went to the liquor store....

I'm thinking the store I go to has a bit of chasing going on, so I may try some new places next time around.  Perhaps a 7-11 where theres more of a constant flow of people and less opportunity to loiter.

So here it goes, I got:

                      1 Ruby Red 7: 0

                      1500K Riches: 0

                      1 $5 LFL: 0

                      1 20X Crossword: 0

                      3 Grand 7's: Ticket, 0, 0

So....spent 31 bucks and got a free $2 ticket.  Woo hoo....

The $500K Riches has a prize structure more similar to Calif Lottery Black, where they "pump up" the top prize beyond what a normal $5 game can offer, at the expense of robbing from the mid range prizes. You only get around 55% back in the average play area of a couple hundred odds range. So you'll lose more money playing this game than other games...unless you hit the top prize.

Also note that this game got an early hit on the top prize, which is sold out at 94% whereas the rest of the game is still only sold through at 99%. The game is "overpaid" now at roughly 114% so far compared to the game's 70.4% total return. This is unusual, but sometimes happens if there is an early hit.

Thanks. I didn't notice that the top prize has been claimed so early. When did they start selling this tickets and when did the winner claim the ticket?

From what I can gather, it has higher lower tier prizes, and better odds for getting them and mid tier prizes than its counterparts.  So instead of getting a 10 or 15 dollar hit, you get $20 and higher hits....and you're probably more likely to hit 100 on one of these, then say...a $10 lucky for life.

I bought one today and it was a loser...I am not really sure what to say about these tickets, except that they are <snip> expensive. If you have the dough and can lose some in the hopes of hitting something, go for it.   It is true that if you spend more on the higher denomination tickets your prizes will be higher.  Then again so will your losses.
