Well just in case this is a negative slant article, I don't live in a van by the river (nor do any of the other LP members as far as I know), I have a good job/career, have a home paid off (many years early), never paid a bill late so my lottery money is from my Starbucks trips that I gave up a while ago now.  Could I afford to spend 10 times more?  Yes, but I won't.  It is about the game and strategy. I have learned alot on LP about strategy and feel I am well set to deal with a major win should I ever win. I also like learning about the stories of winners. It is a legitimate interest just like someone who is an amateur rock collector, golfer, etc. People from all walks of life play the game. I also would love to set up a charitable foundation and that would be my new job.

There are also some amazing statisticians on LP who do all types of analysis of numbers.

Thank you.  I lost interest when they up the ticket to two bucks. I will play MB or PB when it gets up there, but otherwise I stay state. But I still watch both PB and MB to see what number combo are coming up.

I felt the same way when PB price first went up, but once the game proved to be 10 times better than MM because of the size of the jackpots and how fast they get big I started playing more PB than I do MM.

I find it rather odd that you claim Cramer recommended Sponge Tech. First of all, this is was an OTC penny stock with a market value that would have made micro-caps seem like high quality large-cap counterparts. I have never heard of Cramer ever endorsing a penny stock much less an OTC.

Had you invested your dollars in a diversified portfolio(like the S&P 500) over the past 20+ years, It would be safe to say that you would be way ahead at this point.

I don't "claim" it.  He did!

Go back to the video from 2008 or 2009 and see it for yourself.

Cramer was running around suggesting to everyone who saw him on CNBC to buy some Sponge Tech stock.  If you want to run around like a horse with blinders on then go ahead.  Otherwise look it up.

I have to agree with a few on here that this "writer" is looking to make a mockery of individuals who religiously play the lottery. Even though I rarely play, I never put lottery players in a negative light unless they are completely going overboard. There is nothing wrong with spending a few dollars on lottery tickets as long as it's perceived to be entertainment and not as an investment.

It's better than cleaning toilets and reeking like a sewer. Nice life.

Its called "a Trade" and requires some skills.... In case you never heard of those things.

I go overboard, and I play as an "investment"... Why are you on LP if you "rarely" play?

There is no video. This was a pump and dump scheme on a penny stock message board that utilizes Jim Cramer's name. Cramer never has and never will endorse an OTC(pink sheet) stock.
