2 lucky players matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize: 1 from California and 1 from Georgia.  The megaplier was X2 and both players did not have the megaplier.

Mega Millions: There was no jackpot winner in the Tuesday, April 08, 2014 Mega Millions drawing, but 1 lucky player from New York matched the first 5 numbers for a $1,000,000 prize.  Would have won $3,000,000 if they had the megaplier.

Cali was only $320,061 (pari-mutuel) Ouch!

Wow! Is that why they have so many winners?  $300,000 plus dollars for 2nd tier prize.

No, Cali has more winners because it's the most populous state in the nation. The 2nd prize amount is because of the pari-mutuel prize share percentages. It'll almost NEVER be exactly $1,000,000.

The odds of winning the MM and PB jackpot are insane. I see more lottery players playing their local pick 5 games.

The Cash 5 game in Texas sucks. The "jackpot" doesn't roll, and almost never even hits $20,000. Usually around $17,000.

I play 2 Step, Tx Lotto, MM, and PB. Also play AoN, trying for $500,000.

Hitting 2nd prize in MM or PB would be fine with me.

Yeah, in Cali people are, wisely, spending more on the local lotto SuperLotto Plus than they are on the national MM and PB. About $4M for SLP versus about $2.5/$3M for MM/PB. With SLP with $49M JP at 41M odds it is much lesser evil.

I don't understand why Ohioans are spending so much more on MM/PB when their local Ohio Classic Lotto is so much better. I guess that is what happens when you setup the game where it is hardly ever won: people hardly ever want to play. Wink

You have become a lottery dabbler. Focus your money on 1 lottery game to increase your chances of winning.

Lottery games with higher playership have more winners regardless of the odds of winning.

Mega Millions and Powerball are a good example.

I see that the PB had (2) Match 5 winners last night....1 from GA and 1 from MA.....<scratching head> How could this have happened ?? Only CA and NY are supposed to win <big sigh>

Kudos to the winners from those respective states !!  Thumbs Up
