I play to get enough money to pay for all my needs and all my wants.  If I were to win more than that, I would NOT make a sprint to spend it all on useless crap before I die.  I'd give the extra to my favorite institution of higher learning, and specify them in my will also.

If I had kids, I'd leave it to them if they were responsible enough to handle it.  But since I don't have kids I luckily don't have to worry about that.

Same here.

I also don't have children and I have noticed it makes a difference in what people say they'll do with (or invest in) their winnings or sometimes if they'll take the annuity or C/V.   I've said before that if I did have kids, I'd try to make their life easier, and depending upon the amount I won, would try to give them a yearly bequest of the $14k tax exempt amt. ($28k if I were married), but would tell them that would stop when I died, that the remainder of my estate was going to charity or a foundation or church.   Perhaps I'm just overly suspicious, but I also know that money can warp people's thinking and if the children were aware that they could stand to benefit by "pulling the plug" as quickly as possible (or have some nefarious plot in mind) then you might need to make them think they wouldn't profit by your demise.  (I'd let them think that - IOW, lie to them - even if I WERE leaving them the money)  I have nephews and nieces I'd want to help and I know they love their Uncle Mike, but I think I'd do the same with them as I would if I did have children.

I know if I ever remarried, she'd have to sign a pre-nup because of those very same concerns, only with any children SHE might have.

"I play to get enough money to pay for all my needs and all my wants."

That's probably normal for most lottery players, I can't see any of them putting the needs and wants of others before their owns.  They don't have to play the lotteries to do that.

Yep I fall into the 'normal for most lottery players'.

Get outa debt (not much IN debt so pretty easy).  Pay off student loans for kids/g'kids.  Set up monthly allowance for kids (14k/12=1.166k)/ half that for g'kids.  Go on vacation to Nova Scotia (eat at black spoon bistro a couple of times).

Let all other decisions come at the times where decisions need to be made.

Green laughI don't get along with 3/4s of my family and outside of the niece

      I honestly couldn't care less

If I didn't get along with my family I wouldn't either, completely understandable.

First thing I'd do is go to work and quietly clean out my desk.

Second thing would be to gather a list of family I'd give money to.

Third thing is to see a financial advisor.

Fourth thing would be to find a place to hide out for awhile.

          Then finally claim the money

Interesting perspective and understandable, especially with getting remarried ......and "only with any children she might have".

I personally have no plans to ever remarry and most definately not AFTER a win.

probably a resonable performance car not the best i wouldnt know how to drive it.  maybe id even lease  one. honeslty after investing it and knowing my budget, which would be an income. that i would stick to , i would budget, so that i have limitations, still save up  to make big purchases. prob start off with a budget of $100k a year. then maybe increase it by $20k ea year,. oh and a house.when i got to 1/4 mill i would have had 10 years of living quite well off compared to what I am used to i would prob find a nice comfortable level and stay at that.so yeah car and house.

I don't think that makes you suspicious. I think that makes you smart. If anyone watched channel ID for more than 2 hours, they'd think that way too. My mother drilled into me by the age of 15 to never tell anyone you're leaving them anything, so when I started playing the lottery a few years ago, one of the things I decided to make clear was that everything goes to charities on my death or if I went missing for more than a year. The Dee Dee Moores of the world would know that killing me would be of no benefit to them.

I might wake up early and go running.  I might also wake up and win the lottery.

The odds are about the same.

Look at any other forum, one can ignore people like me, or I can ignore haters like you, or liberals,  here you have to pay to block people.  Why did you make the bottom part of your post in white letters to hide it?  I noticed it showed when I hit reply.  If you got something to say say it instead of hiding it in white font to hide it.

Keep at mind what this topic asks, I gave an answer, and you didn't like it.  It doesn't mean I am going to set one up!! Jeez!
