Way to go Artist!  I grew up in Southern California and Malibu was twenty mins away.  Boy did I take it for granted.  I was unaware of the harsh winters elsewhere, to me the difference between summer and winter was a sweatshirt.  I have been looking at Carmel and Northern California for the second half of my life, if I beat the odds.  California is almost as expensive as Hawaii, it is insane, but with a win..........

Got my ticket and my dream.

Good luck lejardin. Hope you win!

J'aime La France.

Same to you Artist.  Malibu at the beach and a Paris Apartment!  The best of both worlds.

Chance of being struck by lightning in a year: one in a million.

Number of hours in a year: 8760.

Number of 30-hour periods in a year: 292.

Thus, chance of being struck by lightning in a 30-hour period: one in 292 million.

Chance of winning PB with one ticket: one in 292 million.

If you buy a PB ticket at 5:00 on Friday, and the drawing is at 11:00 Saturday, you're just as likely to be struck by lightning before the drawing as you are to win.

I think there will be a lot of 4+0 and 4+1 winners tonight. I think the 32 will screw over a lot of birthday number playing people. Nonetheless, I agree with the $40 mil Wed JP prediction.

                  Winning numbers for Saturday 7/30/16 were 11 - 17 - 21 - 23 - 32 PB 5

Most of the Powerball numbers drawn Saturday were Birthday numbers, except for the 32. They would still need to get the Powerball number correct as well for the jackpot.

                  Might be a lot of 4 + 0 or 4 + 1 like quicksloth35 said or maybe a bunch of 5 + 0.

                  Let's see what happens.

The average chance of being struck by lightning is based on all people that are struck by lightning, and has nothing to do with where you're standing. In the US that average chance is pretty close to the 1 in a million figure cited by Murgatroyd, making his overall numbers spot on.
