Nothing yet...

First "reception Session" and no numbers, but I am quite mellow ;-)

I am not surprised, as I only just started... I need to experiment with times et al before fine tuning. I guess the best thing for now is to establish a cyclical routine... that would make sense... I concentrated on transmission, and 'let go' for reception, maybe a little concentration is required.

The visual aid is fun, I always get excited when I see the winner is from PA, too bad I was the one who put that text in... for tomorrow, as it stands I have just one pick, the stat pick... that's cool... soonr or later the other pick will show up. rome wasn't built in a day. After awhile of staring at the balls on the page, they start to move around, almost like they are smoke-filled... I wonder if one day the smoke will clear... is that what it will be like or will the reception be far more subtle?

anyone else having any experiences with the visualization concept?

Here's something interesting... an easy experiment you can try to access your own memories...

1. Think of something you knew the answer to a long time ago but can't for the life of you recall now...

2. internally ask yourself the detailed question 3 times

3. forget about it.

every time I tried this, within an hour or 2 the answer just popped into my mind. I don't know why this works, but for me it does... I wonder if somehow THIS could be incorporated. I realize that I was only querying things I once knew, but it was cool to have it work... it's something I learned from my mother about 10 years ago when trying to remember the name of some kid who I went to 2nd grade with... sure enough 1 hour later the name just popped into my head... key I am told is to subsequently forget the question... and for some reason it must be 3 times you ask.

I have also read something about memorization... if you write something down   3 times it sticks with you in short-term memory longer... That was from an old Scientific American article (early 80's). What's with the number 3? it seems to have a common thread in tweaking the subconscious memory banks... They say astral projection is just tapping into the collective subconscious.. could this be a key to repeatable reception? so many questions so few answers.. now THIS is what experimenting is all about... isn't science cool?

the KWHILBORN experiment (setup)

As any interested hack scientist would, I plan on trying out the concept of transmitting and recieving numbers as described by kwhilborn... I have made up a cool visual aid, a local copy of the powerball results page with blank white and red balls for the next draw (yet to happen).

If I can manage to attain an alpha state (whatever that is) and 'see' the numbers pop into the screen (if it's even that obvious, somehow I doubt it), AND write down what I thought I saw, then record it in excel and play it for the next draw... then it will be interesting to compare it to my other single pick.

I do like to keep an open mind when new ideas are presented (unlike some others), but I also retain my skeptical side... kwhilborn is offering free advice, not selling anyting, and apparently others have seen improvements also... so it would be foolish to ignore this new(?) approach.

The big thing I have concern about is the "alpha" auto-hypnosis... I have seen shows where a hypnotist tried to hypnotize everyone, he got about 2/3 of 'em... not me... I don't like being out of control (that's one reason I never did drugs and generally have had about 2 6-packs of my favorite beer a year (year!) ) so this most likely will be the downfall of my own experiment. But I will go into it open to new ideas... worst that could happen is I stare at the screen and see zip... then I only have my other line to play... time will tell.

Inspired by dragon's blog log, I will keep detailed records and track the results versus the draws... just like I always do with any system.

I am trying to determine the proper protocol for the test... the way I see it, I already check the pb homepage the day after every draw... that must be the transmission point because it is a routine already established. reception will be the new thing to implement. I will have to concentrate more on the winning numbers i suppose.

This will also be the first week I skip the match6... I am bored with that already. I wrote to the PA lottery before M6 was announced and suggested they replace the stupid6 with MUSL's Hot Lotto... that is the ONLY letter I had mailed them that they never responded to, and I sent it 3 seperate times.... boneheads.

PB fans... the number 35 as powerball has now appeared 10 times under the new matrix (190 drawings). it used to be a fairly reliable precursor to the 20 being drawn, but the 20 went cold... 17 is still the most popular number overall with 32 white ball appearances and 4 times as the powerball.

shifting focus to just the powerball

I grow bored with the match6, time to drop it for awhile.

I will instead add another pick to the powerball... this time I will run through KWHILBORN's transmission/reception across time method... with some visual aids and an excel sheet to track progress.

Einstein's theories sort of put into practice, time as a relative concept rather than the fixed linear relentless march we're used to. I will start transmission tomorrow with the results from tonight's Powerball. can't do any worse than my current "predictions" ;-)

freebie on the match6...

spent $2 won $2... too bad it was on the 2 generated QP's... oh well, I play tomorrow night for "free" then ;-) come on MUSL...
Entry #18

Spent $6.... won $9!

Having played the 3 derivatives of my system, I have decided to leave out the average, since the pick is a weighted average anyway, why confuse things with a raw average?

I am keeping FORECAST for now because that pick was closer than without it... won $9 by having the right PB (with the power play of 3)

BTW, 27 finally drawn in PA match6, now all the numbers are out, 33 still red hot... I dropped the raw average from my Match6 picker too. See how friday and saturday go... back to one pick again ;-)

Entry #17

There must be a better way...

Errors in prediction for powerball are actually getting worse... I should try removing the average... see what it does to the pick... I will play 2 tix this wednesday, one as it is now and one without the long/short term averages. I have a reason for using mode and median, not average... and forecast is still a wildcard... maybe I should generate 3 picks... it's only $6 ;-)

I can't believe I am no further along with powerball picks than I was last april... disappointing.

Beating computer drawn games...

Can the seed of a drawing be reverse solved for a computer generated game?

PA uses Computer RNG methods for it's daytime pick3/4....

I need to create a program that will store the result of a call to RANDOMIZE (TIMER) to a variable, write it to a file, and then pick a 3 and 4  digit number with it... do this over a 10 minute window (1:30 pm est to 1:40 pm est), HOPE that it captures the same seed used by the PA games, and then create a sed chart to see when they are drawing.

If

it works just once a month I can pick up my recently abandoned "uber wheel" system for the powerball... (44 tickets per draw + power play... wednesday game only... $88 per week) . I currently play only one ticket per draw (both wed. and sat.)

I am also working (back burner) on a small trapping matrix for the powerball... 5 tickets, one PB in each decade) but that's purely on paper.... would be cool if I could crack the daytime draw to fund the powerball hunt... ;-)

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to work I go...

58 hours last week...

from monday to wednesday of this week I already racked up 33 hours... 2 (possibly 3) days to go.

Looks like I will finally get to replace my aging guitar this year... woohoo!!!

P.S. darn MUSL... I was 1 number away from $7 (actually $35 with powerplay) grr....

range selectors not doing so hot when all numbers are 20 or over...

Why don't those powerballs realize they are not cooperating with the statistics?

my best "pernormers" on individual components are long-term Median and short-term Mode...

my PB picks and their differences (add the number in WB1 to the number in D1 to get the actual result... (add negatives as written))...

could be better, no? It has it's spikes, but there are alot of misses in the same decade, including 7 off by 1. The powerball is consistently off by a decade or 2, unfortunately it's off in both directions...

I need to either refine the system or wait for the powerball numbers to "get with the program"... I'll go for the first one.... but how?

Entry #13

powerball ramblings

First glance at the superimposition of the graph and the guess...

of the 5 white balls, 3 were in the proper direction and 2 were in the neutral direction (picked the last number). THe powerball was only 2 off.

As for announcer ranges... 2 were too low and all the rest (including PB) were in. I am scratching at the surface of something here, the announcer data is tring to tell me something, I just can't interpret it close enough... segments of the graph make peaks and valleys, because my chart is sideways, a "bigger picture" shows semi and sometimes dead-on symmetrical "M" and "W" shapes.

Gross vector analysis is usually a great indicator of "Higher" "Lower" or "Repeat" of last number crawn by position ( I DID miss out on the three-peat 47 in position 5.... my pick was 45) but the degree of magnitude escapes me... patterns are not bound by any laws to emerge symmetrical, it's ALMOST there, but nothing concrete and repeatable. Based on the proximity of picks vs. hits, I am satisfied that my system is currently the best I can do (others undoubtedly do better, but I'm in no competition) given my experience and skills.

on draws such as this, I often think I have the right data already in front of me, I just lack the skill to give it the final gloss it needs to make some waves...

regardless, I move forward... my one line for tuesday's match 6 was calculated friday an hour after the draw, and I took a day away from the numbers Sunday, recalculated the PB pick for wednesday a few minutes ago. it may be a few weeks of data recording until I can recognize whatever (if any) correlation exists between the pick and the graph... something is definitely there, I just can't properly define it yet.

I am definitely enjoying playing only $8 a week to be in 4 drawings... so in that sense, the system DID meet my main goal.

MAME... My new pasttime...

CHecking out the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator for the PC... (MAME)

http://www.mame.net/downmain.html

it's a free emulator for old classic coin-op arcade games like Pac Man and Donkey Kong...

Played my 1 PB ticket (with power play) for tonight.... since I only play one, I'll not be posting the numbers... but I will say I picked 21 as the powerball...

now to find ROMs... (the game programs for MAME)...

Entry #11

new composite... last draw...

For more dynamic direction, I incorporated the last draw (with a weight of 1) into the composite pick.... only one number changed. I will play that line for tomorrow and see how it goes.... I will also test against the graphs, but won't incorporate that until I can figure how.

match6 is doing better than PB for now, matched 2 tonight... + 2 on the QP lines for a free ticket for tuesday!

Entry #10

Merging visible trends?

in the white balls with my system, the last 6 draws, of the 30 white balls picked, only 5 were 10 or more off... 15 were within 4, and of those, 4 were off by one. what does it all mean? I don't know...

my average is 6 away frm the right numbers (actually 5.7)

powerball however is not doing as well... I miss the PB by an average of 13 (13.3)

My charts may help... before, I was left with a blank row to guess the number... now I could use the generated pick as a possible starting ground for some "fine tuning"...

White balls were in the right decade 17 of 30 times (in 6 draws), and within one decade 11 times  meaning I only missed by 2 decades on 2 of 30 numbers... that's better than I was doing with no starting point.

I will need to update and dust off my visual graphs by position... only this time, putting the pick in the top row and seeing how it gels with past draw trends... if a pattern exists, fine tune, if not, leave it alone.... sounds like a plan.

that incorporates announcers, and to a degree, frequency... positional frequency at least.

Does it need to be THAT complex?... good thing I like excel...

Entry #9

another PB jackpot goes...

Well, no dice yet again... still, not far off but no $$$

I have discovered an error in my whole process... I didn't add on the second level of error correction mask... it changed the results dramatically (not enough to win, but alot closer)

I will be ready for wednesday!

I am beginning to think I need to add 3 more things but have NO idea how to implement them into this system...

1. Frequency of all the balls

2. accounting for announcer numbers (or ranges)

3. spotting repeat numbers and incorporating them....

I have zero ieas on how to implement any of the above into the current system of weighted averages... or where to put them in the normula heirarchy... right now every component in the pick process has a reason for being there... 7 of 8 components matched 1 or 2 numbers by themselves, I don't play component picks however, just the  resultant composite pick.

it is amazing how many components have had 8% to 10% accuracy in predicitions in certain positions... most are 5% or even less, and the powerball is even worse. picks keep on appearing in the statistical "mush" area of 21 to 36 for the PB, a result of smoothing and averages.

for wednesday, it calls for a PB of 25.... I will stick with that but it just doesn't "feel" right, an 8 as PB has historically been followed by a number in the teens or the 30's... but I will hold the course.... 1 pick done...

Entry #8

my system with example

Salvaging this from another post... feel free to comment...

I have taken the full history stats and combined them into an auto-ranging weighted matrix resulting in just ONE pick per draw for 2 different jackpot games... Haven't hit much yet (a few $2 and $4 on the match6 so far, thanks to the 2 free QP's and a number or 2 from my line) but I finally did it... the pick changes every draw... follows the short term trends and is still rooted in the full draw history for it's root "profile"... and with excel it's all automatic ;-). While still no big bucks ,my picks are closer than when I was playing 5 and ten tickets per draw... Until I can find something new from calculus to apply, I will stick with this new "one shot" system for the forseeable future...

The math is sketchy, because it incorporates weighted averages, and backtesting only had a dozen $7 winners and 1 $100 hit, but based on all the work I have done looking for the "magic normulae" only to end up disappointed, I can play only one line per game knowing that I gave it my best shot...

the whole auto-ranging weighed average idea came from the study of neurons in artificial neural networks, with a component I added that gives more weight to the better pernorming numbers (using a simple match count as a weight multiplier). My "system" has an open architecture, allowing easy addition, removal or editing of individual components... right now I have 8...

Long Term Components...
MODE (full history) Provides best pernorming numbers
MEDIAN (full History) Provides a range
AVERAGE (Full History) smooths spikes
FORECAST (Full History) a "guess" component

Short Term Trend Components...
MODE (last 10 draws or less) provides recent "hot" numbers
MEDIAN (last 3 draws) short term ranging
AVERAGE (last 3 draws) another smoothing component
FORECAST (last 3 draws) a "wildcard" to shake things up, sometimes calls for negative numbers, but thanks to excel's ABSolute value function, it is now practical....

for each of the above components, a mode-based error correction mask was developed to maximize hits by position... this mask is applied and again checked against history to test and again mode-optimized by position...the resultant stat+error correction mask becomes one component (there are the above 8). A count of matches in the processed pick versus the actual draw numbers for the entire history is there to provide a hit count, this becomes the weight matrix... a component that has matched 19 hits in 179 draws gets a higher weight than a component thatonly matched 10, yet neither is discounted.

once they are all together, they are averaged by using the pick number x weight, this is done for each position to end up with one pick, which is then rounded to zero decimal places (instead of using INT wich discounts fractional components).

here's a simplified math example of the system in action using 2 components...

A. MODE of first position over full history = 2, EC mask = -1, comp number = 1
B. AVERAGE of last 3 draws = 9 Error correction mask = -2, composite number = 7

A has matched 17 of 179 draws, weight component (Awc) is 17
B has matched 12 of 179 draws, weight component (Bwc) is 12

normula = ((A*Awc)+(B*Bwc))/(Awc+Bwc)
result is 3.48, which rounds to 3 for your first position pick...
