Sorry I haven't been online in a few weeks.  A few weeks ago my laptop died, but now I have a new one (Graduation present from the folks.).  Anyway, I decided to take two weeks off to rest up and relax.  I have not bene able to find employment in the industry just yet, but there is a job I'm probably going to apply for in the Washington, DC area.  For the time being, it's back to the meat department and freelance work.

Well, graduation is just one day away.  I can't believe it's been 4 years.  The time really flies by.

Finals started today.  So far all I have had to do was turn in two papers, one of them due today and one due Wednesday.  I have an exam on Wednesday, so I decided to get the other paper out of the way.

 In other news, I recruited the most RA and SA candidates out of the whole Department of Residence Life.  Therefore I am the (very) proud recipient of $125 in Athens Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificates.

Wow.  It's been quite a while since I last posted on this.  Anyway, here's what you missed.  Winter break was fun.  Worked as a butcher for Giant Eagle.  Really liked it there, but the week leading up to Xmas was a 7-day work week.  Went back to school for Winter quarter.  Held a bunch of programs (5.  I;m only required 2 though, bt my bosses noticed that the a very successful one was held on a Saturday night and wanted me to do more Saturday night programs.), one of which being a campus winner for January, 2006 (Relive your Childhood Through Nickelodeon), with two others being Campus Honorable Mentions for January and February, 2006 (The Rist Study & How to Manage a Credit Card).  First duty weekend was week 5, with 2 confrontations.  This weekend was my other, with only one confrontation.  No new girlfriend this quarter.  Honestly, I have only one more quarter until I have my Bachelor's Degree, so I'm really just taking things one day at a time. Thought a resident hasd a gambling problem, but he was joking.  Eventually caught that same resident blaring an air horn in the hallway late at night.  Took two lower-level classes, and two upper-level classes (One being my Tier 3, or interdisciplinary class needed to graduate from OU.).  Finals are this week.  I have 2 papers in Tier 3 (Compters and Technology: Cultural Revolution) and Sociology of Education, and an exam Public Speaking. Been working on my Tier 3 paper for about a week now.  So if you haven't gotten bored reading this and haven't clicked on another link, I thank you.

My streak of working 11 straight days ends tomorrow.  I FINALLY GET A DAY OFF!!!  The streak started last wednesday, and that means I didn't take a day off all week this week.  I pulled in a nice 57 hours this week too, so next Friday, when I see the paycheck, it's gonna be nice.

Finqals are over, and I'm home for winter break until New Year's Eve. I'm currently working behind the meat counter at the local Giant Eagle again, cutting and wrapping meat, as well as making their line of oven-ready gourmet foods. I'm waiting ntil I get my first paycheck to go xmas shopping. I got my grades. Film 343 was an A. German 211 was a B+. Sociology 331 was another B+. Telecommunications 319 was a B+, but the teacher sent out an e-mail saying that he forgot to take into account any extra credit that we earned along the course of the quarter in our grades, so our grades may be higher then originally recorded.   That means I may have an A- or A on my hands with that class. As for the girlfriend situation, I'm still single, but there are a couple that like me. I know who they are, and I'm not going to think about that until I get back to Athens. I figure that if I try to look for love, I will not find it. Better to let love find me. Well, that's basically what's been going on, and I swear I'm going to do this more often again. I found out ath it was too good to be true. I should have known when Alli said I looked handsome, but she used me just for pleasure. I'm a bit pissed, but I'm very forgiving, so I forgave her. She'll get her comeuppance sooner or later though. Other than that, nothing else happened until tonight. I was SAing on South Green tonight, and all was looking well until me and my partner got to Brown Hall. Now Brown Hall and its counterpart, Pickering Hall have more judicial referrals than the rest of campus combined, but I felt that tonight would be differnt. Boy, was I wrong? It wound p being the last building that me and my partner did. That's becase we wound up having three confrontations. The first was for vandalism. The second was for pot. The second one occured not even 5 minutes after the one before. Then, as I was typing up the reports, we got a tip that a room was being noisy. As we confronted that room, I noticed alcohol containers, so that meant that we had to docment that room as well. By the time we were done, we had to get back to the office and we went home.

At least there were no classes today because of the holiday, and I'm not working on Saturday night.

Ok, here's a long story.  I met this girl Alli yesterday.  We were only gonna hang out for an hour and a half.  She wound up spending the night at my place.  As we were just waking up, I heard that familiar sounds that I hate so much.  It was the fire alarm.  After myself and other RAs going through the rooms, getting everyone out, she had to go back to her place.  The problem was that i was sleeping in my underwear, and it took me a while to find my pants.

Me and Jess broke up last night. There were several reasons why I dumped her. Honestly, I don't have much time on my hands for a relationship. I'm an RA, an SA. I'm producing a recruiting video to get residents involved in the halls. I'm producing a documentary for TCOM 319. I have a SOC 331 project to work on. I have GER 211 work to do. I have my FILM 343 script to work on. I have meetings on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Time just isn't on my side.

My last Halloween Weekend as an undergrad at Ohio University is over.  I couldn't be happier.  Not a single incident onmy end of things.

The infamous Ohio University Halloween Weekend starts in less than a half hour, and just like last year...I'm working the whole night.  At least this year I'm working in a substance-free building, so there probably won't be any problems.  I just hope that the fact that there are more people in the building that don't want to go substance-free than last year.  If all else fails, and they do try to drink in the room, then that problem will take care of itself.  I'll be doing rounds every 15 minutes, and so therefore they have about a 95 percent chance of getting caught if they try to drink in the room.

I think Bush did a good job picking Harriet Miers to be the next Supreme Court Justice. I think his approval rating will go up this time, unlike with Chief Justice Roberts (who did not deserve to be Chief Justice). I also think this may have been a publicity stunt to boost his popularity and maybe to help moderate voters go with Republicans in 2006, but that's not exactly a bad thing.

I was on SA duty again tonight, and I had to do a writeup in a room I'd hoped I would never have to do. I had to write up an RA's room. During training they explained how to go about doing it, but I never imagined I would catch an underage RA with alcohol in their room. I know that there are RAs who do drink underage, but I never thought any RAs would be stupid enough to have alcohol in their room.  I just feel bad because someone would be out of a job now.  I know I did the right thing, but sometimes the right thing isn't always the good thing.

Today was payday, and with my SA subbing, my paycheck was worth about $275, and that's to last me 2 weeks.  Now how am I gonna spend it?  DDR EXtreme 2 came out on Tuesday and I still have to buy it.  Hmmm.  Any sggestions?

Had I known OU would have beaten Pitt in football in advance, I would not have opted to do SA duty tonight.  There was rioting everywhere.  People were shooting off fireworks.  People set a house on fire.  This was much worse than when the men's basketball team won their conference.
