The Legislature's attorneys disagreed, and a key lawmaker said he would introduce legislation that would allow California to participate in Mega Millions but require the other 11 states to pay the bulk of administrative costs.Won't happen. What is the color of the sky in that guy's world?

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
I don't imagine that the wolf cares that the fox is not giving the chickens a 'fair chance', as long as the fox shares.wolf (feds) --> <-- fox (states)The quickest 'legislation' would be for enough folks in computer-draw states to 'petition' their federal reserve notes to remain in their pockets until the matter is resolved to their taste.

Sign the petition - eliminate computerized drawings!
Yes, I agree with lottomike on this - the only way to combat this madness is through federal legislation. And for those who will instantly jump to the conclusion that the federal government cannot interfere with the states on this one, you are wrong. There are MANY federal laws already controlling many aspects of lottery games.

Delaware legislation eliminates computerized lottery drawings
Todd, when I say we'll see I mean we'll see if this legislation holds together. If you'd been watching Delaware politics as long as I have you would know exactly what I mean. My Rep. Wally Caulk just quit the Republican party in disgust over the antics over the raises. I imagine he's going to be a bit distracted but I'll write him an email. See if you can get Smith to put this on his Website http://www.repwaynesmith.com/

Delaware legislation eliminates computerized lottery drawings
This is absolutely fantastic!! Maybe it will keep Illinois and other states from becoming computerized.........and done in a badly lit room............in someone's basement..............seven times but only the third draw counts. This really is great news. Also, House Majority Leader Wayne A. Smith, R-Clair Manor, and Sen. Nancy W. Cook, D-Kenton, form the bipartisan sponsorship for this landmark piece of legislation. Maybe these people should be remembered.

Wyoming lottery bill barely nixed
On a split vote, the Wyoming House narrowly defeated legislation allowing residents to play the Powerball lottery. The vote was 29-29, two votes shy of passage, with two representatives excused. Nothing in this bill talks about the addiction, said Rep. Rodney Pete Anderson, R-Pine Bluffs, who led the opposition. It preys upon those who are on the fringe. ... Instead of buying things the family needs, they're buying lottery tickets. They're buying a lot of false hope. He also argued that state

Tennessee State Sen. Steve Cohen Thursday attacked Gov. Phil Bredesens pre-kindergarten initiative, saying the use of lottery money to fund the program is illegal and unconstitutional.Cohen (D-Memphis), the chief legislative architect of the state lottery, accused the administration of bringing intentionally low lottery projections to the legislature in 2003 numbers that ultimately led to the substantial surplus now available, he said.Bredesen called Cohens remarks astonishing. The lottery was de
