Two employees of a Chicago Heights, Illinois, bakery are suing co-workers over a $118 million Mega Millions jackpot, alleging they were unfairly left out of the winnings. Jose Franco and Marco Medina were regular participants in a lottery pool with co-workers at the bakery for about a year, according to the suit. The group won $9 during a drawing on May 1, and there was an understanding that the money would be used to purchase more tickets for a May 4 drawing, the suit said. Some employees

Nigel Page, 43, had offered to give ex-wife Wendy who is the mother of his 13-year-old daughter $1.6 million as a gift, but she responded by seeing a lawyer and fighting for four times as much. The court awarded Wendy a lump sum of $3.2 million which she can spend as she wishes after Page's push for it to be put into a trust for his daughter was re

Lover found lottery winner's body
I agree with you 1000%. Suddenly comming into a large volume of money is a very overwhelming experience. Unless you were born into wealth, you have to learn how to be rich. Unfortunately, it's not like you can browse the yellow pages and find a Learn how to be rich school. I always ask people what they would do if they win a jackpot on the lottery. The initial response is usually: Quit my job. Travel. Pick up a hobby. My next question is, What will you do to fill the hours that us

Gambling addict is suing B.C. Lottery Corporation
Typical case of shifting blame and failing to take responsibility for ones own actions. A self help/outside help program is only as good as what an individual puts into it. A first step is determining there is a problem, the next is taking steps to avoid repeating past mistakes...one of those steps was she enrolled in a program she thought would **do it all for her**. The problem with that is, she didn't have to do much...sign up and leave it up to someone else to be her watchdog and ma

Virginia man claims $200M Mega Millions lottery jackpot
As noted, claiming anonymously wasn't an option, but you don't need to start with anonymity if you've got half a clue, or good advice. That's one reason I don't think 5 months is necesarily a long time. Everyone's situation will be different, but everyone who hasn't already worked at being invisible has some sort of public presence that needs to be eliminated as much as possible. It's not hard to disappear if you want to. I'd start by waiting until I'd discreetly secured a new place to live, and

Lottery winner loses ticket, awarded unspent portion from couple who found it
Are half of the posters here still in the 3rd grade? If you lost your wallet would you honestly believe that whoever found it was entitled to keep it? If so I'll give you credit for consistency. If not, you obviously don't really believe that finders keepers, losers weepers is actually true. The only difference between losing a wallet and other things is that it's usually a lot easier to find the rightful owner of a wallet. I realize that it apparently comes as a complete surprise to a lot of pe
